FS: Penryn X61 with SXGA+ FlexView mod HV121P01-100 + others

I just completed this SXGA+ mod on an X61. It's my first one, and I think it went well. The only casualty is the thinklight, which was an accident. The LCD looks gorgeous, and it's recognized well by both Windows and Linux.

Specs:

1400x1050 SXGA+ LCD (HV121P01-100 from X60 tablet)
T8100 Core 2 Duo "Penryn" 45nm CPU
4GB DDR2 RAM
320GB 7200RPM Western Digital Black HDD
Intel 6205 Wi-Fi
NMB keyboard
Middleton SATA II + SLIC table BIOS

An original Lenovo charger, as well as the X61 Dock, are included.

I like the machine, but the Intel graphics are just not doing it for me. I'm going to have to suck it up and get a T440s or something similar. Windows 7 will NOT be included, it will be wiped or have a linux distro on it. I think it has a Vista license on it.

EDIT: getting those classic cold feet after using a T440. If someone really wants the machine, I'm open to selling it, but I'm much more keen on hanging onto it now.

Here are some pictures. I highlighted one flaw in the backlight, a very small dark spot on the lower-right region of the display.

I don't see these sold often, so I don't know how to price it. The machine itself wasn't extremely cheap, and neither was the display. It's also in very good shape. I'd like $370 shipped in the US for it, but if you have an opinion on it then I am open to reasonable suggestions.

I also have some other things that may be of interest:
T60/T61 dock without key: $15
Extra worn down X61 keyboard: $10
Xeon E5440 LGA 771 CPU: $30
EVGA 9800GT: $20
Monterey K104 Mechanical AT keyboard: $40
T43 with decent UXGA panel, with a SATA mod I botched (good chassis though): $50
T30 system with 1.8GHz CPU and 512MB RAM: $15

If you can transplant a thinklight from a different type of lcd cable I might be willing to send you one free of charge.

It looks like it shouldn't be too hard to solder on, especially if you're talented enough to do a cable mod.

PM me if interested, or even if you just want to explore the possibility, I'd also wouldn't mind picking your brain about doing one of these conversions myself.

Coupled with a SSD or maybe WD Black², I can't see the T440 offering you much unless you're pushing the CPU frequently. It's a very unique ThinkPad. I'd be inclined to keep it too.

The only problems are as follows:

1) I sometimes develop 2D video games, and I have to do substantial frame-skipping when I've designed it to run at 60Hz but the X61 can't be put above 50Hz (even though it will report it sometimes)

and

2) I work in VHDL frequently as of late and even on a brand new modern machine it can take a very long time to synthesize a big project. It only gets worse on an older one.

I think I only ended up snapping the cable by accident. It worked great until the last time I took it apart and reassembled it. I haven't tried to fix it because I just wanted to be done with putting together the LCD lid for the millionth time. Perhaps I will just get another X61 cable and re-do the mod. The way I did it is I built a small adapter, so a stock cable will "work" aside from being in the wrong spot. All I must do is cut between the data lines to make the cable into a bunch of ribbons so it is more flexible.

Bump: I've reduced the price a bit. The value of something like this is hard to gauge.
