Hi,
I have put my machine on sale in ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lenovo-Thinkpad ... 1e92162b16
Its an x61s with L7500 overclocked to 2.4Ghz, SXGA+ setup, touchpad mod and several other minor improvements.
It has a decent 500GB 7200rpm HDD, 2GB RAM.
The details are available on ebay.
I know that this is not quite common practice in this forum, but the machine has several modifications, so I couldn't estimate the right price for it. That is why I decided to put it on ebay with a starting price of 149 chf (about $160). Let the buyers decide its real price.
The shipping can be done either from Switzerland or from France (I live close to the border). So buyers from EU will be happy to avoid customs taxes.
Please feel free to post your questions.
Special thanks to moderator RealBlackStuff for approval.
[EDIT] 2 days left ! current price is $165

Awesome!
Next project: properly fitting a classic keyboard into a T430. It seats and works, but some keys are dead and some are switched. If you manage to get it working right I'll buy the machine from you. Heck, I'll could kiss you!

I've got to give it to you,
vavet...excellent work.
While the touchpad part is not my cup of tea, kudos to you for following your train of thoughts straight to success...

Did a cpu benchmark test today, the result is 1276 without dual IDA enabled (2.13GHz) with dual IDA it scored 1357. The average score of the original L7500 is 927.
These numbers are varying from test to test, so I brought the highest from three runs.
The heat level during the benchmark test didn't exceed 60C

Keep those awesome mods coming.
In the end I did not bid on it. Personally I could not justify another laptop right now, and it would not get from me the use such an amazing machine deserves. I thought my Switzerland-based friend might take an interest, as he likes the X6x series, but I guess he also has enough laptops at this point.
Hope that it goes to a good home.

That sounds neat! If you manage to pull it off, and have a similar maxed-out system, but with a touchscreen instead of the touchpad, I may have to buy it just for bragging rights.

How about a T420 keyboard with trackpoint buttons in a T440s (orT440p) with a FHD IPS screen?
I'll bet that you wouldn't be able to keep up with demand.

Great idea. To bad Lenovo would not implement it. Just imagine, just an option from a drop down menu at time of purchase. Would not be that difficult nor expensive for Lenovo to implement and it would make everyone happy. But why cater to and keep consumers happy?

Theoretically, it is possible to take a keyboard from a lenovo usb keyboard ( the ones with ultranav) and place on the laptop. I compared visually my usb keyboard with the one on my w510. They seem to be of identical form. It can be connected to a usb port from the board. The only problem would be the power button. Which is not present on these keyboards. But I am sure it can be figured out as well. For example on x61 the power button press can be achieved by grounding pin 6 of the connector on motherboard.
