Your looking for an exceedingly rare bird. I found one listed on fleabay, with a probably bad motherboard. My wife allowed me to part with hers, to a fellow forum member because it was a backup to a backup. That said I took both the HDD, and the Ultrabay HDD from the p and put it in a spare (and only one left) A31. She has not touched it in the 90 days or so since I let the p go. I wish you luck but fear your search will be long.

Thanks! I've got a fully functioning A31p and it's amazing but I want to be ready with a working backup unit for the inevitable day when mine dies...

I have a couple, both in excellent physical condition, one fully working, one not. The working one has a red tint on the screen when cold which is typical of a backlight of this age. Someone who is patient and good at soldering can swap out the bulb if you need it to be pristine, or you can replace the LCD. I also have a bunch of accessories.

I haven't offered any of this for sale but may consider it since I rarely use it and when I do it's only for nostalgia. These were always my favorite thinkpad model, but I've moved on and become spoiled with 8gb ram or more so I may be willing to part with some/all of this. I also have a couple A31 models. For the accessories I have a dock, port expander, ultrabay2000 that connects to a PC (somewhere if I can find it lol), quite a few 512 and 1gb ram modules, several optical drives, ultrabay hdd adapters, ultrabay batteries, etc.

I loved these models, back in the day before it was so easy to download DVDs they were nice because you could copy a DVD in your car or at a friends house very easily since they could use two DVD drives. They run Vista very well or your favorite flavor of Linux as well as winXP of course.

If I do let it go it may come with some tears lol
