I have an X60 (1706-E3U) that works fine - LCD has no marks - keyboard has shiny keys (it's been used gently).

Extended life battery .. 8-cell .. that has hardly been used (29 cycles)
XP installed from IBM/Lenovo preload
CPU: T2300
Mem: 2G
HDisk: 100G/7200rpm SATA
Fingerprint reader, etc

Wifi, USB, SD card slot - all work fine
