Long story short, I'm on the lookout for a T420 to upgrade to be my eventual workhorse. I've not found any good candidates on ebay in my price range (hoping for $250-$300 or less to start with), so I'd like to see if there are any hiding with members here which might pique my interest. :)

Eventually I'll upgrade to a QC i7 and upgrade the hard disk, RAM, and screen to the 1600x900 LCD, so the current configuration does not matter (aside from a working unit having the NVS 4200m). Not sure if any T420s shipped with anything other than Windows 7 Pro, but having a W7P OEM COA is a plus. Bad/no HDD, dead/missing battery or missing A/C adapter doesn't matter either. Obviously, any components already upgraded (e.g. the LCD) are a plus.

Let me know what you have, and maybe we can make a deal. I've got a handful of T400s I'm currently refurbishing (and may have some T61s shortly as well); maybe we can work some sort of trade+cash deal.

Okay - I managed to find one in my budget for $230! :D

The machine is type 4236-B27. Already has the 1600x900 screen and the nVidia GPU. Bonuses were what appear to be an intact factory imaged 320 gig HDD with W7P license, 4 GB RAM and the 2.6 GHz i5. I may upgrade to a quad core i7 at some point, but I'll have to think long and hard since I'd imagine heat generation would be quite something with the discrete GPU.

Thanks to all who had a look, and stay tuned for upgrades! 8)
