The used (but remarkably, still in-warranty!) T420 (4236-B27) I just received is OEM licensed/stickered for Win 7 Pro x64 and has such an OS installed, however the Windows installation is "clean" and the hard disk does not have a recovery partition from which I could burn a set myself.

I contacted support through the ESC+ portal yesterday and they responded with "I CONFIRMED THERE WAS NO ICPM POPUP PREVENTING CRU OF THIS PART. CRU - 04T3765 W7P64 US," this morning, but I'm not sure if this indicates they're actually sending disks.

So... if there's anyone out there who has an OEM set of recovery disks for my system (PN 04T3765) or who could burn a copy from an intact recovery partition, let me know.

I have some .iso files of what you're looking for. They might not be an exact match, but they're recovery disks for a T420.

Do you need hosting space? I can give you access to my web server where you could upload them.

I was going to upload them to my Google Drive, but that sounds WAY better.

If the system is still under warranty (confirmed by inputting your serial number here: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/warrantylookup ), then a call to IBM Technical Support at 1-800-426-7378 should yield a recovery disk set at no cost. I just did this for a T420 (4178-6VU) a few weeks ago.

Thanks for that great news Ray. I'm in warranty for 58 more days; maybe IBM's response to my electronic support request for recovery media (above in post 1) indicates they are indeed sending recovery disks. If they show up this week I'll be thrilled. Otherwise I'll definitely give them a call to take advantage of that opportunity while I still can.

In either case I think I've got what I asked for now - either when my recovery disks show up (either via the original electronic request or via phone request) or when that1nerd uploads .iso images of his disks.
