Update: Lowered price, removed regular battery (put it in my T60) and installed a larger one in the T61 for sale. Swapped DVD drives, cause I want the DVD burner in my T60. Price has been reduced accordingly.

I might be interested in your thinkpad. This would be my first. In particular I need a machine with a PCMCIA slot. I have an ageing but very reliable audio card (RME Multiface) that I want to continue using for out of town recording work. My only concern would be the hard drive speed. I would need a faster hard drive than 5400, I think 7200 is the minimum. This would be an easy swap right? And obviously this doesn't have the nVidia problem that I just read about as it has Intel graphics correct?

Yeah, it has Intel graphics, not NVIDIA. And it is very simple to upgrade the HD, just make sure you acquire a 2.5" drive. I don't have any spare 2.5" 7200RPM drives otherwise I'd include one.
