Hi, exploring the worth of my x230 tablet (cause I'll probably be consolidating two thinkpads to a bigger HP Elitebook since I would like a bigger laptop and hate the touchpads on the new Lenovos) and thought I'd pop in and see what the experts think:
X230 tablet 3434-CTO
Core i5 3320M @2.6ghz
8gb RAM
fingerprint reader, bluetooth, Intel Wireless N 2200
120GB msata SSD (Mushkin Enhanced Atlas)+ I believe 320gb or 500gb hard drive in the hard drive slot
IPS multi-touch + digitizer display
webcam
backlit keyboard
extended battery
ac adapter
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit SP1 legal with COA
no warranty
one of the screen positioning tabs on the bezel is broken (of course) A scratch on the touchpad. No other damage or faults. Everything works perfectly.
What do you guys think?

Based on completed eBay auctions for models with your configuration mid-to-high 300s

Uhhh, with all due respect, that seems a little low.

Check for yourself:
http://www.ebay.com/sch/PC-Laptops-Netb ... ld=1&rt=nc
Sold-prices between $383 and $1299
But read their specs before coming to a conclusion.
Your major handicap: the off-the-wall keyboard layout.
OTOH: what the tablet is worth to YOU is basically irrelevant to others.

I don't get this, what's wrong with my keyboard?

Chiclet keyboard with 'odd' layout compared to the classic keyboard on previous generation thinkpads.

Anyone actually tried these keyboards because they are actually quite nice and nothing like the usual chiclet keyboards. Speed typing isn't a problem. My only complaint is that they are fragile.

Any even seemingly minor cosmetic defect has a major negative impact on value. The market has no soul or conscience.

For most, its the layout change, not the chiclet style keys, that made the new keyboard harder to use (at least initially). The tactile feedback of the keys is not really the issue, as it is very similar to that of the previous keyboards.

Agreed, but this is a defect that basically happens on 99% of these units. Not like an outlier or anything. Apart from that minor defect I was hoping for around $500, but much to my confusion, everyone on this forum is clinging to ten year old machines???

That's not really true in regards to the forum...which is in many respects a polar opposite of the "mainstream" market as found on feebay and CL...there's a *ton* of folks sporting newer stuff around here.
Having said that, I'll agree that cosmetics are just about everything when one is selling a pre-owned machine on the "mainstream" market. And yes, a minor defect can make a ton of difference be it common or not. Take it from someone who has sold thousands of ThinkPads.
There's nothing stopping you from listing a system anywhere and for any price that you deem fit. It's your machine to begin with. Just don't be disappointed if it doesn't sell as fast as you'd need it to, or at all.
Best of luck with the sale.

Well I do see I was searching for the non-tablet version X230 and the actual tablets go for a bit more so $500 is not out of line, other than the damage thing. I did not analyze the sales enough to see if others have the same problem. My apologies.

@OP. Your x230t certainly seems loaded i.e. SSD+HD storage and 8gb of RAM. I would say at least $500 on up. The issue is the waiting game. Chances are it will take forever and a half to sell it at a price that you would like. Many individuals are in for a bargain and you may have to haggle with buyers in order to make a sale happen. Also be wary of ebay- they have a three-month policy where a buyer can, for any reason, can file a dispute to get their money back for X reason if you choose to sell there. Good luck!

Yeah, I was going to try Craigslist first, then probably post it on the marketplace here at the same time.
eBay sucks but just so everyone knows, PP has increased the time to file a dispute to 180 days on their end, separate from eBay's claim deadline.
