the basics:
This machine has been sitting on a shelf unused since mid-2009. I've cleaned it up - inside and out - repasted and applied Zender's modded BIOS with a couple of light upgrades along the way. Tested thoroughly, utilise "as-is" or use as a very solid basis for FrankenPad build.
The screen is nothing short of gorgeous. I can't find any flaws on it, and it's very bright for its age as well.
known imperfections:
- average wear on the lid, light scratches on the bottom.
- no COA
Overall, I'd rate the laptop at about 8.75 on a 1-10 scale, mainly due to the wear on the lid. Keyboard is exceptionally clean, and the palmrest has no flaws that I can detect apart from light wear. The hinges are tight.
I'm currently running W7 32 Pro on this ThinkPad - from a 64GB Intel X-25E SLC SSD - and wow...it sure doesn't feel like an eight year old system.
Needless to say, I have the means of turning this machine into just about anything and everything that this shell can take including turning it into a FrankenPad with specs of your choice...
