SOLD: IBM ThinkPad Power Series 850

#1 Post by drinkbeerinstead » Tue Jun 16, 2015 9:26 am

I had forgotten that I had this rare beast sitting in a drawer in my office. The wife asked if she could throw it away. After I was done crying, I posted the goods to ebay.
Check out the auction if you're looking for some sweet hardware that can run AIX!

hello..

welcome to the forum..

that IS a rare beast, especially if it has a booting hard drive..
those SCSI drives are hard to find..

i had one which i sold for about $500 so let your wife know that thinkpad 850 is a valuable antique..

do you have any better photos of it.. a close up of the various labels and silk screened model numbers..?

mine was labeled as an 860 RS6000 (or RS2000, i forget which)..

I just sold my less than fully functional 850 so I am looking for one that works. On my watchlist. Thanks for the heads up.

I've added some almost legible pics of the labels to the auction. The model is listed as 6020-960, which seems a little strange.

BTW: yours is an IBM Power Series 800 model, NOT an 850!
