Favor needed (uk/england)

Are there any Brits here that might be willing to do me a favor which I'd be glad to return.
I've been helping a lovely young woman whose T61 died. It's a common 14" widescreen and the GPU failed. I sent her an Intel board and even though she had never fixed anything electronic before I walked her through the process with photos and videos and it went great. She was thrilled and very happy, but then two years later her baby who is now a toddler decided to clean mommies laptop by pouring water on it and washing it with a dish rag and naturally killed it. I sent her a brand new NOS motherboard to replace it but she had problems removing some screws at first and then when she finally got the board swapped it didn't boot. She was going to ship it to me and I would be happy to replace any additional parts that may be damaged, or correct any errors during install, but she was quoted $90 (or perhaps 90gbp) to ship it one way, so if someone local could look at it, check that all the connectors, cpu, ram are all seated and perhaps diagnose what is needed I could send the parts and I'd be happy to repay the favor.
She's currently seeking a cheaper method of shipping the laptop, so if someone has any advice on shipping that will be welcome, but it would really be great of someone has a lot of experience with these models it would be easy to diagnose. I have boxes of parts for this model and could diagnose and replace any bad parts very easily if it was here, it's just the cost of shipping that is the problem for a young mother and student.
To repay the favor I could help you get any parts you may need for these models or help with reshipping items that are available here but not in UK, or help with things like building T61 frankenpads, etc.
If you think you may be able to help please send me a PM.
