I think it is impolite to tout eBay auctions here. If you want to offer the item to board members and solicit offers, fine. But the people here are perfectly capable of checking eBay themselves if there's something they're looking for. Just my opinion.

I'll chime in on the other side. I think it's fine for people here to announce an eBay auction, as I rarely just go looking for parts there.

However, I think it is misleading to state that you're offering something for $1 when you in fact have it on auction.

Impolite to post notice of something for sale in the "User FOR SALE/Want to Buy" forum?

Misleading to say the "auction starts at $1"?

I get Taurens, thanks for the notice. I may bid.

I can understand that you are not feeling comfortable with people advertising eBay auctions here, so I guess I shall take $10 off the total if you are the winner, and you can pm me so that I get to know that are a member of this forum. I will be more careful posting eBay auctions using this space.
Cheers!

The problem was that that wasn't clear from the thread subject line. It initially said $1 not that it was an auction item starting at $1.
