Hi there,

Just bought an x201, but it came with no hard drive or recovery discs, and the product key on the COA has worn off and therefore unreadable. Does anyone have a set of recovery media for the x201, or a set of downloadable ISO files? Happy to buy for a reasonable price.

I have the same need for Vista recovery disks for my X301. I *used* to have a recovery partition on it but I thought I had a set of recovery discs and wiped it, and discovered later on that they were XP recovery discs.

I have win 7 disks (64 bit) for both X201 and X301. But unfortunately in Chinese.
You can google how to change language

So you'd install them in Chinese first, then switch languages afterwards?

Due to an epic amount of forgetfulness on my part, I have lost contact with the person who PMed me with a solution. Does anyone still have media for either of these machines available?

I have vista setup discs that already have service pack 2 integrated and can provide you with a COA with product key too. I have them listed in a somewhat old topic for $20 with coa and no shipping is necessary if you download the disc from me, or I can burn and mail it. If you're international the disc could be downloaded and a scan of the coa sent in email to avoid international shipping and customs ect.

For windows seven I have win7 pro setup discs, but I think I'm out of COAs but I do have one COA for Win7 Premium 64 bit which is $45 including the disc. You can lookup the differences online but for a notebook they are extremely minor, for example pro version supports an insane amount of ram which only a commercial grade server could handle but I believe either will handle as much as nearly any thinkpad can accept.

If all you need is just the setup discs I'd be glad to send them to you for a nominal gratuity of your choice.

I have a copy of the X301 Vista recovery discs if you want.

I can send them via post for $30 USD (Are you in New Zealand?), or I can upload ISOs somewhere for you for $20 USD.

I'd be most interested in downloads of the ISOs.

For the X201, I would prefer Windows 7 Pro recovery media, as the COA on the bottom is Windows 7 Pro, and the product key is unreadable...
