WTB IPS Display for X230

Just got swindled on FleaBay on an X230. Description said IPS, reality said otherwise.

I see plenty of standalone displays up for auction, but you know the saying; "fool me once..."

hi just to share, you can get a working IPS panel from Aliexpress (by website, Android or iOS apps too).

get one of those with most number of orders, and check the comments from previous buyers just to be sure.

i ordered the IPS panel for my X220 there, which would work fully in your X230 too.
the actual changing of the panel itself is not so easily (bezel removal is crazy), but well worth the time and efforts after you are done. PM me if you need more help, good luck with your search.

I have had situations like this happen, and you may be able to get the seller to give a partial refund like $50 that would cover the new screen.

Got a partial refund from the seller. I somehow missed any notification of replies here, so I went with the most solid Ebay listing I could find out of impatience/need for a screen. The first one was damaged, and now several weeks into a much belabored return/exchange/refund process, the replacement screen is f-ed too. I'm looking on AliExpress now with a search query of LP125WH2-SLB1. I don't have my notes handy anymore, but I remember settling on this model as being the right one to shop for after a lot of research. This one:

has the most orders of the bunch in my search results, but the feedback is unimpressive.

Am I needlessly fixating on one model number when one or more others will suffice? Can you recommend a particular item/vendor on AliExpress?

Don't get an LP125WH2-SLB1. Get an SLB3, SLT1 or SLT2 instead. Those are newer revisions of the IPS panel, and they will probably be somewhat better (e.g., less image retention issues).
