I have two matched pairs of generic no-name 8GB 2X4GB DDR2 667Mhz PC2-5300 memory. These have worked fine for a number of years in T61 laptops with absolutely no problems. I'm moving on from the T61 world and would be interested in trading each pair for 16 GB DDR3 PC3L 12800 1600MHz memory (L -> 1.35 volt type). 2 x 8 GB or 1 x 16 GB doesn't matter.

Some people may think that offering 8 GB DDR2 for 16 GB DDR3 is a bit off target, but check prices of 2x4GB DDR2 on ebay or newegg and you will see that they equate pretty well to 16 GB DDR3 !! For some reason 2 x 4GB DDR2 are rare and expensive!

BTW: Another possibility - I'd also consider a trade of all four modules for a used 480 GB SSD.
