I built a T60/T61 frankenpad recently to see how cheaply it can be done. I've been using the T61f for the last week or so and it's been great, but it's reminded me why I jumped ship from a T61f to my X61 in the first place: size, and the graphics power isn't a big enough jump from the Intel graphics to make a difference for me.

The specs:

T9300 Core 2 Duo at 2.5GHz Penryn
4GB RAM installed (matched 2x2GB pairs)
128GB SSD; Middleton BIOS installed for SATA II capability
Solid chassis, small crack on right hand side of palmrest. Still sturdy, has IBM branding.
Keyboard in great shape without shine
Original Lenovo battery with ~80% original capacity
IDTech UXGA LCD installed. It is only slightly yellowed, but the back light is pretty even and I can't find any spots. The display is the brightest IDTech I've used. I have a nice SXGA+ panel I could swap in if you want for a slight reduced price.
Quadro NVS 140m graphics - completely rock solid during a few hours of Autodesk Inventor as well as some 3D gaming. Idles around 60 degrees, normal for this model with this CPU.

As I built this thing on the cheap I'm also willing to sell it relatively cheap for what it is. I'm starting the value at $380 SOLD, but I'm open to offers / negotiations / reducing the price by removing the SSD.

I will take pictures shortly. You can read about my progress creating the frankenpad here: http://thinkpads.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=119589
