My fan is making more noise and yesterday I received a fan error. Laptop started but, it's just a matter of time.
This is just a basic T61 14" widescreen with built in graphics.
I read that a T500 fan would also work.
Need the whole assembly for a quick switch.
Should be in very gd to excellent condition please.
Thanks,
Ron

I've got one. Sending a PM...
Edit - Nevermind, as it turns out all I have are fans from discrete GPU T61s.

The 14" widescreen uses a different fan than other sizes but the discrete fan will work on the intel board as long as you get rid of the grey pad and use thermal paste on the chip that contains both the controller and the X3100 gpu. They also made two different types, 99.9% have toshiba which had fans that tend to wear out every few years. The good news is they make generic fan motors that are cheap, getting them properly aligned and secured in place requires some tape and glue, it's not simple, but also not rocket science. The other 0.1% have furakawa fans similar to the T61p with three heat pipes, They aren't easy to find and aren't listed in the HMM and I've only seen them factory installed in 08/09 models.
You cannot use a T500 fan in this model
Ron, if you want a motor I have one I can send you, if you want a furakawa fan I'll see what I can do, but they usually sell as fast as I can get them. I do not have any toshiba fans that aren't starting to get noisey.
You can also try cleaning and lubing your fan, if it isn't noisey this may work for a couple years.
