WTB Laptop with 4k or QHD 3200x1800 screen, quad core and supports 32gb ram, 5lbs or less
I'm getting into more Android and IOS development and that adds to the virtual machines I'm running and the screen real estate I need. Plus I'm learning some new stuff so I usually like a few more vms running, a few videos and pdfs etc beside my regular work. My w520 and w530 work great for this at my desk but when not at the desk I find 1080p limits how much stuff I can fit on the screen.
Centered keyboard is plus, I have boughta few 8gb and 16gb modules so I don't need ram. I'm brand agnostic so I'll consider any brand now since the thinkpad design doesn't really add anything of value to me now, but that's another topic.
I do have my
w520
w530
for trade if interested, they are all 32gb ram with ssd/hd combo. The w530 has the k2000m and still under full onsite warranty until I think the end of 2016.

I would be curious to know if there is such a beast out there.

Dell, HP, and Lenovo all have new portable workstations coming out with 4k displays,
but the few reviews that I've seen indicate teething problems with the displays,
pcie-nvm, and possibly other things.
I can sympathize, though, because I'm also using VMs for software development,
and multiple displays don't work well with the virtualization solution that I'm using (VirtualBox.)

32 gigs, 5 lbs or less? I have seen the 4k laptops but they max at 16 gigs and are pretty robust for the most part.

The software-based solution is a windows manager with 'workspace 1, workspace 2...' support.jedisurfer1 wrote:[snip]when not at the desk I find 1080p limits how much stuff I can fit on the screen.[/snip]
Learn the keyboard shortcuts to:
- jump to workspace [x]
- move object to workspace [x]
Reuse workspaces between session by always stick given virtual machine(s) in a given workspace.

I think the closest right now is a Dell 9550 4k, quad core and can take 2x 16gb ram. That's the closest I've found. I had a consultant show me his, it was nice but I didn't want to pay the price he paid so I might wait until I see one on the outlet site and there is a coupon at the same time. If I could get 4k (and maybe PCIE SSD) on my w520 or w530 I'd be happy for quite sometime.

The P50 offers a 4k IPS LCD and up to 64Gb of ram.
The keyboard isn't centered and no optical.
There is a trackpoint though.
