WTB: x220 battery 50% (europe)

#1 Post by jaspen-meyer » Sun Mar 06, 2016 12:22 pm

Looking for a x220 battery so I can update bios.

Could order a new battery for 30 euro but I don't need a new battery.

PM me a reasonable offer.

Find a T60 interposer P/N 41W1130 (extension to put 14" mobo in 15" chassis).

It's the left connector for batteries on above pic.
Cut that connector off from the board, then in half and finally solder six 4"/10cm long wires between the contact halves.
With that you can connect any Lenovo battery (from T6x/R6x/X6x upwards) to your laptop.
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)

At least one of us is thinking!

I'll pull the board from an 'dead' T400 battery and, for the other half, either make something or pick up a road-kill T6x and pull connector from the motherboard.

Thanks, that's how I started, with parts cut off from a dead battery and a dead motherboard.
For wiring I used a piece from an old IDE flat-ribbon cable.

Not alone here, did two like that in different ways; I used different thinkpad battery on a bare motherboard to update bios. And on another I pulled off battery connector from old worthless thinkpad board with wire extensions soldered directly to the motherboard's in question for update.

Cheers, thinkpadcollection
