age and economics is creeping up on me and i think it is time to clean out the closet and museum, SO i am offering up this list of antique thinkpads and related NOS parts..

i would like to sell the whole batch in one go, so let me request offers via PM.. :)

i must say that typing on the 755 keyboards is a trip back in time to when the keyboards were an IBM quality experience not felt since about 20 years..
2 - T61p, WUXGA, one won't boot, the other works just fine..
2 - S30 2639-BB1 and 2639-BB2, one is a demo the other is reportedly the sample sent to the CEO of IBM (palmisano i think), both have US keyboards..
1 - T60, needs a new HDD as the one it has has been locked with ransomware while my wife was using it..
1 - 770-1AU
1 - Transnote with accessories, won't boot, bad CMOS battery probably..
5 - 701C all 486-75, all working, some with win95, at least one with the original preload.. + one user manual..
about 10 floppy cables and about 10 printer cables, + about 5 mini-docks undamaged..
about 6 NOS accessory batteries, which means they arer IBM and come with a case..
about a dozen 701 appropriate HDD's with caddy, one for each 701..
about 6 external floppy drives of various manufacture
1 - 755CDV
2 - 760C
1 - 770Z
1 - 750C
1 - 340
1 - 755CE
1 - 760CD
1 - 560
1 - 570 with ultrabase
3 - 701C (condition; cosmetically poor, operationally OK..
1 - 770 9548-51U
1 - 770 9548-32U
2 - NOS keyboard bezels for 770 14 inch screen..
4 - OEM HDD caddy's for 760 series..
10 (maybe more) - 701 NOS keyboards..
5 - NOS 701 486-75 8k planar boards (one is a reworked AMD 486-133 mhz cpu with 64k memory SODIMM)..

misc. other thinkpad specific parts..

Wife acceptance factor on this would be very very low . . .

Do what I do... pay from your own checking/credit card/PayPal account, ship it to work and sneak it into the house when she's away :) .

Good luck with the sale, Bill!

Humm... I maybe interested (if my red-head lady does not object)! I do not want to insist you with a low bid. What would you be asking including any shipping to Indiana?

James
Indiana

This hardly needs further clarification (except PM stands for: Private Message).
Also, as per Forum Rules, no price discussions are allowed in the Marketforum.

EXTRA NEWS: since Bill is the Boss here, no need for him to put in any asking price!

I would be willing to joint venture with someone else and draw lots to split it up. Shipping for me is also to the Hoosier State. PM me anybody who is interested in my idea of an offer and willing to go halfsies or thirdsies or whatever. It is a lot of stuff for one person to receive and unfortunately largely duplicates my collection but I cannot resist wanting some of it.

Part of me just wants to put in an offer as a way of thanking Bill for this forum and resource while also making out with some hardware too. :)

Unfortunately, I just don't have the space at the moment, and I already have TP's in storage. That's not even addressing my non-liquidity...

Someone had better grab these up,though. It's Bill for heaven's sake... :parrot:

you have a red head wife too..
mine will celebrate when i start clearing stuff out..

i have NO IDEA what it all would be worth..
there are several significant thinkpads..
the transnote and S30's for a collector, the 770Z the same i think..
the 133mhz planar board for a 701 and the 64k (k..?) memory part which is SUPER rare..
several of the 701C's are in excellent shape.. all work.. but some are suffering from softening paint..

i should add there will be one or two other thinkpads i forgot about..
like another minty 701C in a display case and a X60T with UGA display..

so i would ask for bids and maybe just sort out each thinkpad's value and then add it all up..

as for shipping, i have no idea..
just packing will be a major operation.. the way i pack thinkpads..

figure at least 5 pounds for each thinkpad.. we're talking about 200 pounds spread over at least 20 cartons of filebox size.. and all this is a guess..

Load it onto pallets and deliver via a trucking company.

What secret land do you go to find them? I've been seeking it out for some time. Image

Perhaps it's a death wish? ;)
