14“
There is no 15" 4:3 T61 (apart from frankens)
I have one with UXGA screen, but if you want you'd have to wait until the end of next month

Hi RMSMajestic,
I'm the guy who sent you a message about installing a m290x/8970m in a Dell M6700. Did the heatsink arrive? Does the Clevo HD8970m work with fan BIOS control?

I found a post: http://dell.benyouhui.it168.com/thread-5496452-1-1.html (Using Google translate) saying the Blue crossfire 4GB 8970m should work, but I can't find any blue 8970m cards for sale. :(

I'm very interested in the T61 but need a few more days to think about it. Not asking you to hold it, but I do want to ask some brief questions in the meantime:
1) Since you've modded it to handle a 1066 FSB (huge congrats!), can it also use the QX9300, and can it still use 800 FSB cpu's if so desired? (I've skimmed through your posts describing the 1066 mods and noticed there are some extra steps needed to handle the quad core.)
2) Can the motherboard be swapped into a 15" T60 to make a frankie? (Since 15" frankies use the 14" 4:3 T61 boards anyway.)
3) I noticed there's no bluetooth led on the screen bezel -- was this simply a choice, or is there some issue handling bt in this mod?
4) How hot does the machine typically run, e.g. under low to moderate load? I have a 15" T601f w/X9000+intel X3100 (42w7872 board)+256GB SSD that tends to run in the 40s-low 50s C, but can get up to 70s under heavy load (streaming hi-res vids etc).

Like I mentioned I've only skimmed through some of your posts so if you've already addressed any of these feel free to just send links.
Thanks!

Sold,
but can still answer ur question.
1. Yes but for QX9300 there's stability issues, and yes 800Mhz CPU works after this mod, but either CPU's getting overclocked or RAM has to run at lower speed
2. yes for some small modifications
3. Not at all, there wasn't bluetooth when I bought this T61, and I haven't used bluetooth for years. But adding BT is a straight forward task
4. depends on the task you run and also the heatsink you install

Ah, I was worried that might have happened...But then I noticed it was still listed on ebay (and as of this message it still is) so I thought it's worth a shot...Thanks for your answers...If you ever end up selling something like that again -- or custom making 1066 mods to T61 boards -- I'd definitely still be interested. (In addition to my T6x's I also have a T500 w/T9900 and it runs like a charm...But I agree with many others on this forum that nothing beats 4:3 for vertical screen real estate -- esp. 15" 4:3).
