Due to an upcoming move, I'm selling my restored ThinkPad 701c.
The casing is in fair condition from its age. The entire machine has been taken apart and cleaned thoroughly. Screen works great, keyboard (US English) works and folds properly. Hard drive has been replaced by a CF card, so it's fast and quiet. Loaded with the factory Windows 3.1 + OS/2 image. Has a 32M stick of RAM installed for a total of 40M RAM.
The stand-by battery and CMOS battery has both been replaced and are in good working order, so the BIOS holds system time just fine. The main battery has been re-celled, unfortunately the new cells seem to be dying and won't power the computer when unplugged. (I've been charging them for a day, and it seems to be reviving, but no guarantees.)
Comes with a bunch of spare parts and tools for working on this machine, including:
- Torx T1 screwdriver for removing the keyboard. Quite difficult to find!
- Spare casing parts, RAM sticks, keyboard, screen, hard drives (some may be broken)
- PCMCIA cards. I used them with Linux; might not have Windows 3.1 / OS/2 drivers
- Any other crap I can find / remember.
The ask price is $240 OBO, with free shipping to CONUS. Extra shipping for international. Please feel free to make offers or ask questions in the reply / via PM. Thanks![/strike]
