Looking for a replacement screen for my T60P Model 2623DDU.

Does the type indicate which type screen I have? If not how do I identify it and do I want a better one than whatever it is I currently have?

Your other post indicates you have a 2623-DDU which has the IPS UXGA screen.

I have such a panel but it's not perfect; there are a few pressure marks on it.

Thank you, I edited my post to reflect the DDU. If I am replacing the screen what would be the best replacement?

The UXGA IPS (or AFFS) screens are the best out there that are a drop-in replacement.

Strictly speaking there is another screen which can be modified for LED backlighting, but these are very rare nowadays. RealBlackStuff has a writeup and occasionally has FrankenPads for sale with these...

Got it, thanks. I'll keep yours in mind but want to look around for one without issues if possible.

I am also looking, is there no reliable source for even CCFL IPS displays
used or old stock?

I found the part number that you suggest RBS, but that ad in particular has this disclaimer
at the bottom:
"Note: You will receive a genuine OEM screen from one of the main manufacturers (AUO, LG, Samsung, Chunghwa, Philips, etc) that is fully compatible/identical to the one described."

So we probably won't get a Sharp from that seller.

Why don't you ask them if it is a real Sharp? It's either jay or nay.

Alternative: http://www.ebay.com/itm/381657398722
These are genuine, at this price, buy two (or more)...

I've got a good-looking ID Tech if you are interested. Got it while hunting for Hydis screen. May take some shots if needed.

Just got 2 in. Shipping was fast. Ordered Tues morning at 6:30am and just got this morning.

Have 2 T60ps(one with T7600G and one with T7200). Will be installing them this weekend and update on how it went.

Thanx for the heads up. May have to grab a spare or 2 at that price.

Ok, got the new screen installed in my spare T60p(T7200). The original screen had a vertical line on the far left side and pressure marks. The new screen is much brighter and whiter overall than my main T60p(T7600G) with them sitting side by side. It's as crisp if not crisper than the older screen. Response time seems to be similar. The old panel was an HV150UX1-100.
Says BOE Viewiz eco RoHS Compliant. FRU 13N7076, P/N 13N7075.

Installation was a pain. Had to remove the Dell 5150 inverter. it was located on the back of the screen on a bracket. Could not get the bracket off the LCD(stripped the screws), but it didn't make any difference putting it back together with it still on. The LCD cable lined up in the exact spot so no issues there. I did forget to tape the LCD cable onto the LCD, and it caused it to go greenish at certain angles, so I had to take it back apart and tape it on securely. There is also an extension cable from the inverter to the LCD that has to be removed. Its about 2.5 inches long.

Before I swapped the LCD in the T60p I swapped an LCD in a Dell Inspiron N7010. That sucker only took about 5 minutes. Never seen such an easy swap!

If you take laptops apart, you should have a proper #00 Phillips screwdriver.
Get a number 319257 at DoItBest or Walmart
https://www.doitbest.com/products/do-it ... 410a003f4f
That works great for removing Sharp/Dell inverters etc.

I have several. They were just way too tight and they stripped(plus I was afraid of flexing the panel and cracking it by trying to put too much force on it to get them undone). Not a big deal. The panel fit with no problems. I haven't tried the other panel yet. Kinda using that laptop right this sec....... :-)

Do you have a cross reference for the A30p/A31p UXGA LCD?

Will this sharp panel fit?

Thanx

T4x screens fit in an A31, so that Sharp will also fit.

Good to know. Only issue I've seen with the new screen is when I switch to a terminal from X-Windows(I run Linux) and back, sometimes the backlight with start pulsing and I have to power off the laptop. Perhaps the inverter isn't the exact one? I dunno. Any thoughts?

FYI i have a UXGA IPS 15 inch display replacement screen i bought about 10 years ago..
its been in storage waiting for a time the display on my T60p failed, which has not happened..

no idea of manufacturer or value but it was when IBM was selling off their old spares..

EDIT (nov-16): panel sold, buyer apparently happy..

I have to bring this up but is this the sort of Sharp screen you are talking about?

Could be, but I don't know.
I only look for these ones that I know will fit:
Dell P/N: 9H753 or N1563, but ONLY provided that they are also
Sharp P/N: LQ150U1LW22 or LQ150U1LW22N
Apparently Dell also has XGA screens with the same Dell P/N as above... :BAAAD!:

It seems your xxxH22 screen is an older version from the same screen, both have the same pinout and connector location.

But is it ips quality? I currently have the famous IDTech UXGA IPS but in a really horrible condition (yellowed+pinked, even though not horribly pinked+dust) so I'm looking for a replacement or refurbishment to the IDTech LCD

I think I could get a picture for you if you want to. ID Tech next to BOE next to Sharp. Sharp is pretty nice, but IMO considering color reproduction its far behind.
