Hello everyone!

Unfortunately the time has come for me to part from my "little baby"... After almost 5 years I really need a more
powerful and more portable computer... this is a true desktop replacement, where you can have up to 5 storage options
(without ODD) and up to 3 monitors (internal + VGA and HDMI or 3 external with DVI + VGA + HDMI); I've taken the outmost
care with this setup and it has never failed on me.

Only flaws I can think of: the spring buttons of the PCMCIA and expresscard
came off a long ago, so I stuffed electrical tape in it to make it flush and covered it nicely; to remove the cards you have
to take off the palm rest (RAM wise) and push them out gently from the inside; the bottom of the docking station has a long
scratch and some of its "screw covering squares" are a bit worn, but nothing serious.

+ Base model: 15' 4:3 ThinkPad T60 type 2007, excellent conditions (very light marks on lid, perfect base and palmrest with fingerprint reader).
+ Like new LG-Philips LP150E05-A2K1 IPS/Flexview SXGA+ (1400x1050) screen, great colors and contrast.
+ Intel core2duo T9300 cpu (2.5GHz/6MB cache), cleaned and repasted with Arctic silver 5 (never exceeds 70 Celsius under load - Fan is very quiet).
+ 42W7648 Intel motherboard with Intel x3100 gpu and Middleton BIOS already flashed.
+ 8GB RAM Hynix 2x4GB PC2-6400 modules.
+ Like new English US keyboard + 3x extra new TrackPoint caps (2x classic dome + 1x soft rim).
+ Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 card and original Bluetooth module.
+ genuine Lenovo 9-cell battery with 65% of original capacity remaining (3 to 4 hours depending on load and brightness).
+ Samsung 850 EVO 120GB SSD.
+ mSata to USB 2x microSD adapter with 2x Samsung EVO 64GB microSDs.
+ Genuine HL-DT-ST DVDRAM drive.
+ Genuine Lenovo 90W AC adapter + EU power cord.
+ ThinkPad Advanced Docking Station type 2503 + EU power cord (the Lenovo branded one, quieter than the IBM but still very loud with VGA installed).
+ 2x UltraBay batteries with 100% of original capacity remaining (1 to 2 hours depending on load and brightness).
+ 2x UltraBay HDD Caddies, 1x genuine and 1x chinese replica (genuine lets you boot from it, the replica not).
+ Asus AMD Radeon R7 240 2GB DDR3 Low profile in docking station (works flawlessly even when booting or hot-plugging).
+ PCMCIA SD Card reader.
+ Genuine GemPlus by Lenovo expresscard smart card reader.
+ Genuine Windows 10 Pro already installed (I will refresh it and install the language of your choice).
+ ThinkPad 13 Laptop bag (very sturdy and roomy, the T60 4:3 fits perfectly in along with many accessories).
+ Modem card removed from the laptop for frankenpadding is included separately.
+ Extra Bluetooth card taken from an x61t I owned (it's exactly the same as the one installed).

I'm asking € 400.00 plus shipping cost; I ship from Italy and the cost is € 10,00 here,
€ 20,00 to 40,00 (depending on weight and service) to Europe.
I can arrange oversea shipping, but please ask for a quote if you wish;
please PM me if interested and ask whatever you want! I will provide better pictures in private!

If you enjoy tinkering this can be upgraded to quad core, and the NOS nVidia boards have come down significantly in price if you want discrete graphics on the internal LCD. The former mod requires some soldering and other custom work, but the board swap is easy and these options may help you meet your requirements so you may not want to sell your frankie, but otherwise it looks like a good deal and if the overseas shipment wasn't an issue I'd probably offer you something newer in trade... but Good luck with your sale, very nice frankie :)

Hi TuuS,

thank you very much for your post and your tips; I just got a P50 for serious work and a Gigabyte Aero 14
(nice little powerful machine) to carry around... still trying to get used to these "new" keyboard...
there is simply NO option that suits me in the current ThinkPad line (almost got the t460p but that lumpy battery underneath...),
so let's be honest, if Lenovo is not getting something interesting out with the Retro project,
they won't have any of my money in the future and I will abandon the ThinkPad forever;

I'm trying hard (I WANT) to like the P50, but it's so sad compared to the good old days...
There's something wrong with it... the screen is good but feels flimsy, and the bezel is awful - so much space wasted -
the trackpad is off-center and there's that numpad I don't need, the keyboard is all over the place, the battery does not extend
on the back but is on the front... maybe I'm nitpicking but there are so many little things that make a BIG thing all together...

sorry for my rant...

BTW I saw the quad core modding, but it's too difficult for me, I simply don't have the skill to do that and besides I don't want
to do anymore work on my baby, it must stay this way! ...and I hope it will find a good home!

Thank you!

Hi Rainarrow,

thank you very much for your interest, I'm sending you a PM.

BTW, both the P50 and the Gigabyte are going back... the new ThinkPads are really not for me, I'm afraid...
The latter has the wobblier screen I've ever seen, it's a pity because otherwise I really like the machine.

I'm currently checking out some Clevo barebones, I'm attracted by the P640RF, and for the time being I'll
rely on my custom built desktop workstation;

It's crazy how difficult it is today to find a good laptop :? ... compromises, I know, but the less, the better!

Good day to everyone!
