SOLD: ThinkPad X200s upgraded with X201s system board and media card
This will take a moment to explain, though some forum members will be very familiar with what I'm describing.
The X201s (notice the "s" in the name) is very hard to find; like the X200s, it's the model that weighs less and has a higher-resolution screen than the corresponding non-s model.
Fortunately, however, the previous model, the X200s, is fairly easy to find, and it takes about twenty minutes to upgrade an X200s to an X201s by replacing the system board with a X201s system board and the media card with an X201/X201s media card. I've done this upgrade on two machines, and am now selling off those systems because I'm replacing them with newer ThinkPads.
So, up for sale is an X200s upgraded to an X201s in everything but the "X200s" on the panel below the screen. It has an Intel I5 U520 CPU and various upgrades to the original equipment: 4 GB RAM, an 80 GB Intel SSD, and an Intel AC 7260 wifi card. The BIOS has of course been upgraded with the non-whitelist version so it can use the new wifi card. Computrace is permanently disabled in the BIOS. Original Lenovo power supply included.
The 9-cell Lenovo battery reports more than 4 hours battery life. The front bezel has no fingerprint reader; if you want to use a fingerprint reader, you'll need to install an X201/X201s bezel (easy to find in new condition), because the fingerprint-reader connector on the old X200/X200s bezel doesn't fit the connector on the X201s system board.
I've installed 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium, and have activated it with the product key on the original sticker on the base of the unit. I've created an administrative account called "ThinkPad" with no password; you can create your own account and delete the "ThinkPad" account. Windows Update is up-to-date as of this morning.
This unit is in beautiful, nearly-new condition, as you can see from the photos here:

EDIT: I mistakenly described the USB port as 3.0 in my original message.
On the third photo you can see the yellow "always-on" USB 2.0 port that replaces the ordinary USB 2.0 port on the old X200s. Also, this is the last X2nn model that uses the classic ThinkPad keyboard.
As I said, the X201s is very hard to find. Almost all the ones that have shown up on eBay in the past few years have actually been X201 models, misidentified by the sellers.
Price: $150, including UPS Ground or USPS shipping to continental United States only. And of course, I hope you'll check my feedback on this forum before you buy.

Re: FS: ThinkPad X200s upgraded with X201s system board and media card
I just got reminded that the yellow USB port on this machine is "always-on" USB 2.0, NOT 3.0. If anyone wants to withdraw an offer that you made by PM, please feel free to do so. I don't want to mislead anyone into buying something that doesn't match expectations.
Apologies to all for the mistaken original post (which I've now corrected).

Re: SOLD: ThinkPad X200s upgraded with X201s system board and media card
OK, this unit is sold, but I'll have a similar one (with a 6-cell battery, not a 9-cell) before too long. Thanks to everyone who got in touch!
