IBM ThinkPad T43, Type 2686-DJU

Why am I selling it?
This laptop was originally intended to be the spiritual successor to my beat-up old T40, however, my T40 decided to start working again, and I managed to dig up some screws to keep it most of the way together. The T43 is a 15" model, and despite the trivial increase in thickness and screen size, it feels much heavier. The increased weight combined with the noise level of this machine are quite disappointing, and thinking about it, I imagine the speed increase offered by the 915GM and DDR2 RAM are trivial at best. So I'll stick with what I know and love.

Specifications:
Intel Pentium M 750 (1.86GHz, 2MB, 533)
1GB DDR2 533 (2x512MB mismatched sticks, so only single-channel.)
No hard drive or caddy.
DVD burner.
Fingerprint reader.
15" model. I haven't installed Windows so I don't know the resolution, but I'm assuming it's 1024x768.

The good:
-DVD burner.
-Fingerprint reader (standard for T43's though.)
-ATI graphics, which if I remember right, supports Windows Aero unlike the Intel graphics that most T43's seem to have.
-Powers up and runs.

The bad:
-The fan, when it starts up, sounds like a jet engine taking off. This may be specific to the T43's or 15" models in general, I don't know. Someone care to enlighten me?
-Two dark spots on the screen (in the photos, you can only see one, but I guarantee there is another one nearby.)
-No battery, hard drive, or caddy. That's how I got the machine, otherwise I'd include the drive caddy, and the battery if it still worked.
-Missing several screws. It still remains in one piece though.
-I removed the plastic piece that covers where the hard drive connects to the board (to allow proper alignment of the drive without the caddy), but I'll include it if you'd like to reinstall it.

The ugly:
-Scuffed and scratched, especially on the lid as ThinkPad's from this era tend to be.
-Missing left arrow key (it came off as I tried to remove the keyboard. Thankfully, I saved the keycap, dome, and the plastic pieces and I will include them if you'd like to reinstall it.)
-Missing that thin strip of plastic under the screen that covers the three tabs holding the palmrest to the battery area.
-Dust and dirt accumulations under the hood, and around the keyboard area. I don't have the time or ambition to clean it up, sorry.

Price, payment, and shipping information:
-Asking $30. Willing to negotiate, or trade for a cosmetically good condition 14" T4x (doesn't have to work, I just want the plastics and screws to fix up my suddenly-started-working-again T40), or any other laptop from around the era that you have provided it's in working condition.

-If you're shipping, PayPal only. If you want to pick up locally, cash only.

-Shipping will be a flat $13.45 to the CONTINENTAL U.S. ONLY. Nothing against international buyers, but it's too much of a hassle to ship overseas, and I worry that carriers in other countries aren't as good with packages as the USPS. I wouldn't want to have you take delivery of the package only to find that your postal workers were using it as a shield in a contact sport.

-I'll also consider local pick up if you'd like to visit scenic western Pennsylvania.

What you'll receive:
-The laptop, in the condition that the pictures show, provided the PS in USPS stands for Postal Service and not Package Smashers.
-Working AC adapter.
-The plastic hard drive cover that goes under the palmrest, along with the left arrow key and all its associated pieces.

Please note that I am a first-time seller on this forum. Thank you for looking, and Happy New Year!
