(USA) FS: Socket A mobo (gratis), WiebeTech DriveDocks, R51 SXGA+ Flexview

parts added 2017-10-21
"new old stock" AMD Socket A motherboard; gratis, just pay shipping
EPoX 8KRAI PRO, or EP-8KRAI PRO, or EPOX 8KRAIPR; UPC 819366003361
This is new in open box, with original User's Manual, CD-ROM, and I/O shield. I imagine it works, but I do not have a processor nor heatsink to test it. Other original parts (header/button/I/O cables) are missing; I think I can provide substitutes. (I can provide a whole ATX case.)

pair of WiebeTech DriveDocks; asking $16 plus shipping
Both DriveDocks work, but, both have quirks. Here, I describe both DriveDocks and their quirks. Here, snapshot picture of lot contents. If you want the DriveDocks without more spare hard drives, then package weight is four pounds. With two PATA HDD, total weight is six pounds. Lot contents:

FireWire DriveDock+ with box, information CD-ROM, power supply and AC cord, USB 2 A to B cable, IEEE 1394A 6p to 4p cable, drive bottom plate. (Its original yellow PATA ribbon cable wore out, so I replaced it with a grey one. I am keeping its original 1394 6p to 6p cable, I am packing a 6 to 4-pin cable instead.)

USB DriveDock v5 with box, Quick Start Guide, power supply and cord, USB 3 A to B cable, eSATA to SATA cable, mini-fit 2×2 to SFF-8012 power cable, SFF-8012 to SATA power cable. This boxed set is complete and original.

Two PATA Hard Disc Drives (Western Digital Caviar WD400BB-00FJA0 and Maxtor DiamondMax 16 4R080L0).

(USA) FS: R51 (good SXGA+ Flexview) (poor body condition); $8 + shipping
original configuration of R51 1830-BQU:
P M 1.6GHz, 256MB RAM, 40GB 4200rpm HDD, 15 SXGA+(1400x1050) TFT LCD, 32MB ATI Radeon 9000, 24x24x24x/8x CD-RW/DVD, Intel 802.11b/g wireless, Modem, 1Gb Ether, UltraNav, Sec Chip, IEEE 1394, 6 cell Li-Ion Batt, WinXP Pro
Current config: 512 Mio RAM (2×256), original HDD died and was replaced with another 40 Go @ 4200 RPM, Intel WNIC was replaced with Atheros a/b/g, no working battery. I quickly loaded XP Pro SP2.

I got it from a member on this forum for a friend, who used it through a couple years before giving it to eir child, then after a year they gave it to me. So I've been using it at home.

It is in poor condition. Basin/base/bottom body plastic is badly cracked around hinges, between Ultrabay to battery bay, under PC Card slot, and under IR window. Keyboard surround / palmrest looks intact when viewed from outside, but some plastic hooks/ridges/snaps are broken inside. Screen bezel is broken: bump which triggers lid close switch broke off. Keyboard is broken but fully workable: 'B' keycap comes off too easily (its plastic hook is broken but stays put if not disturbed), and right TrackPoint button has broken axle (it no longer clips into position; it would fall off if tilted, bumped, blown; but I put a piece of tape on it to hold it in place). Battery is kaput: indicator light is flashing orange, IBM Battery Monitor just shows error instead of detailed battery information. Power inlet receptacle is due for replacement: it had a very loose grip, so I tightened it by re-bending its spring contact; its spring will eventually fatigue, so it might as well be replaced at same occasion as plastic body parts. Serial number and MAC address sticker labels are faded and non-readable.

Includes network cable and Targus mini mouse. Power supply is not included at $8 price.

Asking price: eight USD ($8) plus shipping cost. If you would like to get a genuine IBM 72 watt AC Adapter, then I will include it, at additional $7 price. Estimate shipping from 60712. Package weight is eleven pounds with battery and power brick, ten pounds without one battery/brick, nine pounds without any power supply.

First listed 2016-11-20. Last price change 2017-03-11. Last description revision 2017-10-20.
