A couple of months ago I offered one of these hybrid machines in this thread:

http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=122696

And now I've got another similar machine for sale. To repeat the basics:

The X201s (notice the "s" in the name) is very hard to find; like the X200s, it's the model that weighs less and has a higher-resolution screen than the corresponding non-s model.

Fortunately, however, the previous model, the X200s, is fairly easy to find, and it takes about twenty minutes to upgrade an X200s to an X201s by replacing the system board with a X201s system board and the media card with an X201/X201s media card. I've done this upgrade on two machines, and am now selling off those systems because I'm replacing them with newer ThinkPads.

So, up for sale is the second of those two machines: an X200s upgraded to an X201s in everything but the "X200s" on the panel below the screen. It has an Intel I5 U520 CPU and various upgrades to the original equipment: 4 GB RAM, and an Intel AC 7260 wifi card. The BIOS has of course been upgraded with the non-whitelist version so it can use the new wifi card. Computrace is permanently disabled in the BIOS. Original Lenovo power supply included.

I've included a hard disk caddy with cover and the mounting screws, but you'll need to install your own hard disk. An SSD is highly recommended for this system.

I haven't tested the 6-cell Lenovo battery recently, but I think it can be charged either in full or within two or three percent of full charge.

The front bezel has no fingerprint reader; if you want to use a fingerprint reader, you'll need to install an X201/X201s bezel (easy to find in new condition), because the fingerprint-reader connector on the old X200/X200s bezel doesn't fit the connector on the X201s system board.

Like the previous unit, this one is in excellent condition. It has some light surface scrapes typical of indoor-only use, and almost invisible except in bright light. Here are some photos - taken in bright light, in order to make all faults visible:

The slight discolorations (from old labels) on the bezel are virtually invisible except in strong light. I scarcely even noticed them until I took the pictures. And of course the pattern on the screen in the last photo is an artifact of my phone's camera. The actual screen is perfectly normal and in perfect condition.

On the picture of the left-hand side, you can see the always-on yellow USB port that came with the X201[s] series. The original X200[s] series had a standard blue port.

Price: $115 with UPS ground shipping. Lower 48 states only, please.

Please check my feedback in this forum before you decide to buy this, of course.

EDIT: "full charge" not "fall charge"
