LF: Recovery media for W500 with Win 7

#1 Post by durmada » Wed Jun 28, 2017 8:55 am

I am looking for the recovery disks with Win 7 (64-bit) & drivers for W500 with switchable graphics. Iso images preferable since I am not in the US right now.

P.S. The reason I am looking for the original recovery discs is the frustration I experienced while trying to make a clean install of Win 7 on W500 with switchable graphics. Installation of Win 7 (including Windows updates) goes well till the end. But when I install Lenovo driver for switchable graphics the LCD after restart is on till Welcome screen and then it turns black. Image on the external monitor is distorted. If I switch to integrated graphics in the BIOS then everything is Ok but I need switchable graphics.

Has it occurred to you that your ATI graphics could be faulty?
But see if this helps: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-P ... d-p/791739

RealBlackStuff, I have already tried those suggestions https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-P ... -p/791739 . Same thing. It works only with integrated graphics only. For some reason it didn't cross my mind that my switchable graphics can be faulty but now looks like it might be.
