Thinkpad4by3's Law of the Universe.

The efficiency of two screens equally sized with equal numbers if pixels are equal. The time spent by a 4:3 user complaining about 16:9 is proportional to the inefficiency working with a 16:9 display, therefore the amount of useful work extracted is equal.

I have two dozen Thinkpads of varying vintage and class, mostly working and some for spares/parts, and almost all require a Trackpoint replacement. The classic dome is the only one I use. I have a pile of new soft dome/soft rim caps, and when I do a customer sale I include a selection of all three caps with the purchase. Any units brought in for repair also get a free new Trackpoint cap, and many customers appreciate the classic dome. Because I use the classic dome for my own units, my supply of these is very low.

My last purchase of fifty of the cat's tongue caps was about two years ago and I have finally almost exhausted that supply.

After much searching...FINALLY!

112 pieces of 84G6537 "Cat's Tongue" Trackpoint caps...

All nicely snuggled in their little official IBM bag @ two caps per bag...

This was a one-off purchase locally here in London Ontario, from an electronics/ laptop repair shop that was closing down. Included in the box were a few bags of OEM Dell and HP "Pointing Stick" caps as well in purple and green....(it would be heresy to call them "Trackpoints " :BAAAD!: )
