SOLD: It was your last chance to get your own T70!
SOLD: It was your last chance to get your own T70!
Finally got mine; last unit produced with highest specs
However, in the meantime I've been provided with new workstation (Z-book), plus use my Frankenpad much and am considering letting it go to someone who will have more use of it.
The specs are as follows:
i7-7820HK 2,9-3,9GHz, 4 cores, 8 threads (so the best possible option)
Intel hd 630
16gigs of Hynix DDR4, one slot open
256Gb NVMe SSD, second NVMe slot open, no HDD/SSD in the 2,5" but caddy&rails are included
UXGA Boe-Hydis screen, pretty close to perfect as much as I can see
New NMB small enter keyboard
9-cell genuine new battery
Genuine 90W charger
The system is very clean - actually looks like new.
It came with 6-cell "genuine" battery, that turned out to be some garbage with lenovo sticker on it. Failed after two charge cycles. I'm including mine, 9-cell, new from T500 era.
I've done quite some testing, and was able to lower voltages on CPU by 0,15V and GPU by 0,11V - this lowered overall temperature by over 20C.
Here you have some pics:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1p-IFa ... NErIOUq03H
I will be asking $1450 + shipping, which is actually the cost I have spent to put it up to the current shape

Re: It's your last chance to get your own T70! (interest check)
This is waaay out of my budget range, but it is an impressive machine.
I'm assuming there never was a T7x series (probably a self-made mod name), but I'm amazed and would love to see some pictures.
Great job and wish you luck on your sale.

T7x have never built by IBM or Lenovo, but have built by 51nb team. Other models from them: T50, X62, X210. May be some future models like X310.
As for me - this month i am waiting for my X210 - so only one present per month for me:(

Re: FS: It's your last chance to get your own T70!
With no undervolting, 180113 bios (no power-saving features) synthetic test produces 93-94C w/23C ambient. Under heavy load (there's no better load test than gaming) I'm getting close to 100C.
When undervolted -0,15V CPU and -0,11V GPU the system temperature drops down to 82C under super-heavy load, and stays in there. Idle/light load temps are in the 40-50C range, jumping to lower 60s for 0,5sec. With turbo off (which, under prolonged load may be reasonable) it dropped down to lower 70s.
After rolling back to 170904 BIOS, it is keeping better temps (lower 90s under heavy load w/no undervolting), but the system does not accept any reasonable undervolting without fusses. The ranges observed with this bios are -0,09V for CPU and -0,05V GPU, and it does fuss, especially when hibernating / waking from sleep.
I have observed a battery life gain of 10% when under load after messing with BIOS.
Under no load / light load the power consumption difference is neglible, to my surprise.

What's the screen size and GPU on this device?
Re: FS: It's your last chance to get your own T70!
15,1" UXGA IPS from Boe-Hydis 4:3 (should be obvious).
There was only one option on 51nb board - intel hd 630.

Re: FS: It's your last chance to get your own T70!
I figured it was the 15 inch Boe Hydis, which I have on my T60P.
I just wasn't familiar with the T701 Frankenpad.
Since you dealt with 51nb, do you have a contact for Leo Kim, one of the best modders on that site?

Re: FS: It's your last chance to get your own T70!
Nope; I've contacted Jacky only.
T70 is specific. I've owned a X62 (twice), and its completely different story.
