I'm currently moving out and selling off my retro-computing collection. After few months of doubt I finally decided to part with one of the gems of my collection.
So here's my 2001 piano black Thinkpad S30 in mint condition still boxed with all its guides, original Japanese adverts, restoration CDs and accessories. This is a rare part of Thinkpad history which has been mine since more than 10 years now and seldom used (always with gloves since it was mostly on display at my own private museum). It has always been kept in the dark, away from the sun, in a humidity and temperature-controlled environment and of course in a smoke-free and pet-free house. I don't think you won't get a nicer S30. The BIOS battery still hold a charge and the main battery has been kept removed from the Thinkpad so there's no leakage whatsoever from it. I don't think it would still hold much of a charge though, since it hasn't been charged for a while.
Factory reinstalled Windows ME (Japanese edition) and all the CDs are included (I also took the liberty to upload their contents to archive.org to help fellow collectors looking for them since they are (were) really hard to find : https://archive.org/details/SLCJP10)
256MB RAM
Pentium III 600MHz
20GB HDD
Model number: 2639-43J
I also include the following extras:
- a rare external USB CD-ROM reader in piano black (match the special color of the S30) complete in (carefully flattened) box
- an heavy (silver ?) medal of IBM Japan, part of my private IBM collection
- a 3COM PCMCIA Wifi card with retractable antenna that matches the overall S30 design (really sleek)
