That 760E looks beautiful. I think I need to make more space in my small place before getting such a large computer, but I'm still salty over the one that suddenly died on me this February.hwattys wrote: ↑Sun Oct 14, 2018 3:50 pmOffered on eBay at $99 plus shipping for either to start but Forum members can always contact me to discuss:

I hope it finds a good home.

What is that greenish bar above the F keys on the 760E? Looks like some sort of LCD.

It is. The 760 and 770 used LCDs as indicators. Many laptop from the early-mid 90s used this as a cheap and easy way as status indicators. IBM used this technique as far back as the L40SX laptop from 1991.TheForgottenKing wrote: ↑Fri Oct 19, 2018 10:15 pmWhat is that greenish bar above the F keys on the 760E? Thinkpad4by3's Law of the Universe.
The efficiency of two screens equally sized with equal numbers if pixels are equal. The time spent by a 4:3 user complaining about 16:9 is proportional to the inefficiency working with a 16:9 display, therefore the amount of useful work extracted is equal.

Looks cool. Apple's touchbar isn't that new then (760, X1C2)

That isn't a touchbar, it's just a status indicator made from an LCD and it isn't even the first. The X1C2 was though.TheForgottenKing wrote: ↑Mon Oct 22, 2018 8:22 amLooks cool. Apple's touchbar isn't that new then (760, X1C2)
