FS: A lot of Thinkpads of various ages and conditions
I have to sell off a decent chunk of my Thinkpads as my collection has grown too large. Pictures can be provided on request.

PENDING MACHINES: (Still send me offers for these so you can be in the queue)
PENDING - S: G40 - Pentium 4, 256mb, XGA, working battery - $50
PENDING - S: X201s - i7-640LM, 8GB, 128GB, good condition, very minor pressure mark only visible at extreme angles - $100
PENDING - R: W701 - i7-720QM, 1440x900, 8GB - $150

PENDING - F W700 - T9600, 4GB, 1920x1200, dead battery - $175 + Charger $50
SOLD MACHINES:

Re: FS: A lot of Thinkpads of various ages and conditions
I'm having to reinventory my W7 machines. I'm worried about shipping internationally. Lots of demand for these, so prices may change as I reinventory and I'll be selling to the best option, not the first option.
So far, what I have: SEE BELOW
W701 - i7-720QM, 8GB, 1440x900 - This one boots, but the DC jack was resoldered - $150
W700 - T9600, 4GB, 1920x1200 - Good shape, overall working - $150
W700 - T9600, 4GB, 1920x1200 - This one is in good shape, the DC jack is a bit loose but works well - Might have Computrace, I'm looking at removing it through official means - SALE PRICE PENDING OFFICIAL COMPUTRACE REMOVAL - $150?
W700 - T9400, 1440x900 - Dead motherboard, rough condition - I might consider repairing this and selling it, but for now I'll list it here - $50
170W charger - $70 separate, $50 with any machine
Possibly dead battery, might work, not really tested - $10 with any machine
I don't think I'll ship these in bulk internationally, it's risky and the prices get insane fast.

I have used https://www.ipsparcel.com/ for overseas shipping.
Takes a bit longer but costs a lot less.
Bonus: If you live outside the USA and would like to ship items from USA, you can use them also.

The rule that states you have to provide a selling price is in existence to prevent this situation. If you list a price, then see there are several takers at that price, then increase the price you are running an auction, albeit with a "reinventory" justification. If you reinventory, and discover/remember serious problems such as with the power supply circuit which usually foretells the sounding of the death knell for these planars or the insiduous computrace, then that is reason to decrease the prices, not increase them.TheForgottenKing wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2019 10:14 pmI'm having to reinventory my W7 machines. up from $100 due to DC jack issue and computrace problem disclosure and intended resolution

previously included with the W700 machines

If you list items, expressing a preference for bulk purchases and offering discounts for said activity and someone offers to buy the bulk at a discount of your choosing, that is the best "option"; if that is also the first "option" so much the better in terms of etiquette. Reserving the right to sell to a "best option" in excess of what you ask for is conducting an auction.
RBS has kindly provided a postage solution and as far as "risky" is concerned the thinkpads stand a better chance of survival crashing over water, just ask the pilot.
Here's the relevant portion of the original listing for comparison:
TheForgottenKing wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2019 10:48 pmI have to sell off a decent chunk of my Thinkpads as my collection has grown too large. Pictures can be provided on request, but they make take a few days as I am currently extremely busy. Any half decent offer will probably be accepted, and bulk deals are even better.
W700 - T9600, 4GB, no SSD, 1920x1200, decent condition, dead battery - $150
W700 - T9600, 4GB, no SSD, 1920x1200, rough condition, dead battery - $100
W700 - T9400, no RAM, no SSD, 1440x900, does not boot, bad board - $50
W701 - i7-720QM, 4GB, no SSD, 1440x900, decent condition, no battery - $100
All prices are best offer, and do not include shipping or fees, which should be around $15-$20 to the US. I will ship internationally. If multiple items are bought, I'll reduce the price. Unsold items will be listed on eBay, but I'd rather sell what I can to the forums first.

Re: FS: A lot of Thinkpads of various ages and conditions
I can sell to whoever suits me best, at whatever price I choose. People can choose to buy them, or not. They're my machines. I could burn them, sell them on eBay, sell them on Reddit, or sell them here. I can choose not to sell them to you or anyone, at any price, for whatever reason. Similarly, you can choose not to buy from me.
I've changed prices based on what I want for the machines, and by looking at other listings. If the W701 didn't have the DC jack issue, I'd have changed the price more.
As it stands, I've had to put all deals on hold on the W7 machines. Prices may increase or decrease. Those prices are just asking prices, as per the forum rules.
You will note that I have not told any buyer what the other offers are, and have simply adjusted my prices on what I am willing to take.
At the moment, everything is temporary and subject to change, so please have patience. It isn't all that easy for me to inventory my >20 machines and keep track of every issue that each one has.
Also, nowhere in here does it say that I can't change the price arbitrarily: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=17028

Also, does anyone know if the W701 screen can be upgraded using non-OEM parts such as the normal LTN170CT08? I'd rather not spend >$100 on a WUXGA screen if someone wants an upgrade.

and hello mr. king..
you or anyone can sell whatever you want for whatever price you set initially..
however, raising the asking price, mid-stream, is just not friendly..
does not generate good feelings..
so, IMO, if you want to set up a sale to the highest bidder say so at the outset, don't change the rules mid sale and/or raise your asking price..
thats all i have to say now, at 1:15AM..

Anyway, moving on, good news from the W700 side of things:
The W700 that had Computrace, I called up Absolute (Computrace makers) and they removed it as the machine was off lease. In addition, I have come to the realization that the DC jack isn't loose, it's just that the 230W adapter has a longer plug. The machine is in 7/10 shape, as It's missing an HDD cover and has some scratches and wear. I can purchase these, but it will take a few weeks to arrive. As such, I'm listing the starting price at $150.
The W701 and other W700 are most likely sold. The parts machine is not.
