WTB: x260 working or for parts

#1 Post by Whitieiii » Wed Oct 09, 2019 11:14 pm

I'm wanting to buy an x260 working or for parts for around $200 shipped... if working i'm looking for the i3-6100u CPU... ram, hdd and external battery are not needed as I have my own (can always throw them in if you want) and i'll install a 1080p display in it myself

it seems the i3 is a hard model to find on ebay... been looking for awhile and not much luck and when I do find it it's way overpriced...

on the other hand if you have a higher end model with a 1080p screen but the mainboard doesn't work or is bios locked or something like that, that would also be good... I'll replace it with an i3-6100u mainboard

eather option will work just seeing my options... as I'm wanting somthing to work on again to eventually be my main travel laptop

Why so adamant on a i3?
Thinkpad4by3's Law of the Universe.

The efficiency of two screens equally sized with equal numbers if pixels are equal. The time spent by a 4:3 user complaining about 16:9 is proportional to the inefficiency working with a 16:9 display, therefore the amount of useful work extracted is equal.

Don't need anything better just to watch YouTube or check email and stuff plus I'm looking at the most possible battery life.. the i5 is almost $300 for a good condition used one as well... Only reason I don't go for an x240 or x250 is the jump to ddr4 ram and native support for mc7455 wwan card

just picked up an x260 for $200 on ebay and will be doing some upgrades to it soon... it's nice 6th gen i-series is now affordable enough for me... don't know the configuration but knowing it's a higher model CPU I wouldn't think it would be lacking
