On ebay, I see $200 OEM batteries and $30-40 Chinese batteries, and I don't know if I ought to trust the ones from China.
Any advice on the topic would also be very welcome, as my laptop only currently works when plugged in...
I also have a dead CMOS battery, so I'd like to buy one of those, too.

As for the main battery, I was in the same boat a while ago and ended up getting a re-celled original battery through a friend of mine and a fellow forum member, all the way from UK.
Be mindful of the fact that OEM batteries for these have a higher than usual DOA rate. I've seen quite a few in which controller had decided that the battery was "dead" although the box was unopened.
