FS: Quad Core ThinkPad 25 (T480 Mod), i7 + MX150 dGPU + 118g Optane Memory 800p + 1t NVMe Storage + 32g Memory $1899
FS: Quad Core ThinkPad 25 (T480 Mod), i7 + MX150 dGPU + 118g Optane Memory 800p + 1t NVMe Storage + 32g Memory $1899
For sale is a modded 7 row keyboard T480 based on the Chinese variant of ThinkPad 25. Most parts are original but still no warranty as a result of the mod
Photos: https://imgur.com/a/2MPpuA0
Specs:
CPU: Core i7 8550U
GPU: Geforce MX150
Memory: Dual Channel 16gb*2=32gb
Storage: 118g Optane Memory 800p as system disk, 1t Kingshare NVMe SSD as file storage disk.
Screen: Original T25 Touch Screen
Battery: 3+3 Cell Original T25 part
Heatsink: Installed extra copper sheets and heatpipes for better heat disposal.
Camera: T25 part, IR Windows Hello Cam + Webcam
Wireless: Dell DW1830 (two antennas)
All covers except the bottom one (incompatible) are from the original machine, top case modded by xueyao.
Decided to sell this one because it has a 16:9 screen. I tried to force myself to adopt the wider ratio with no success, but I still consider this as the best ThinkPad made by Lenovo after the **20 series. There're several flaws between the top case and the bottom cover and there's a small bump on the top case. There're scratches on the machine as I've used it for 2 years and it has been completely disassembled to install the new board as shown in the photos. Installed the DW1830 card for hackintosh (Only two wireless antennas are working and the maximum speed is 866Mbps), an additional 16gb memory stick, the Optane 800p memory for a faster system drive and the 1tb 2242 ssd for some extra disk spaces. Other parts should be from either original T480 or original T25 with SN or FRU.
The price is $1899 w/o shipment. The shipment cost to the US incl. insurance should be around $200 because DHL is super expensive these months. I ship from China and the buyer should receive the machine around 15-20 days.

Thanks! Still a great machine tho, but the keyboard is not as good as older classic machines as a result of the shorter key travel distance

Personally, I don't mind the shorter key travel, as the keyboard itself is very firm. Only the T4x has firmer keyboard in my experience. I'd love an upgraded Thinkpad 25 such as yours, but I already have mine, and it's good enough for now. Good luck with the sale.
