Hello, sorry that my first post on the forum is selling! As a long time lurker I've never signed up.

I'm a big ThinkPad fan, I own a number of classic Thinkpads and recently ordered an X330 custom built as part of the Thinkpads old and New facebook group. It's arrived, and it's such a beautiful machine, and lightening fast, but I don't love it. I don't like the X230 shape or feel. Even with the classic keyboard, it feels too modern. I just don't love it.

In no rush to sell, but happy to take offers. Would prefer collection if possible I am in Yorkshire, but can courier it secured if necessary:

The screen is beautiful from all angles! Even Windows 7 looks good in QHD!

Neither did they ever make a model named X330
This is an aftermarket mod based on X230:
- normal 2-core CPU has been replaced with a 4-core CPU on the motherboard - this required a specialized rework station, CPU is soldered on in these models
- X220 keyboard has been fitted
- an extra small PCB was added stealing one of display port lanes going into the docking connector; this board adapts that DP into dDP, probably the 30pin variety
- this made it possible to connect a more modern screen panel - that's the final change; as far as I can see from the photos this screen panel is bigger than the original so a custom screen bezel was added; it's possible that some CNC was used to mill out the new bezel; it's likely there were some mods done internally to the screen lid too; webcam had to go as there is no longer any space for it

So it's a heavily modded X230 - a very nice machine.

Actually my portable workhorse is my i7 X201! I have a desktop at home I work from.
