Hi Bill,

I've been using the original Carbon X1 in 14". Have had numerous X1's over the years. Great laptop for basics plus. I'm retired and my needs are really just basic. I've been thinking about an Extreme version at 15" but the cost for me has been prohibitive. I'm writing you on a 2nd Gen with an I5 cpu, 8GB ram, 512GB ss drive and a touchscreen. Really enjoyable.

Good luck with the sale. It's tempting but I'll concede to someone else....

Breaking the rules a bit but it's probably because you can get the base-spec Gen 4 for about the same price.

i have looked at the lenovo site and all i can see is gen3 for the X1C extreme..
all the options drive the price way up..
closest i can get to the specs on my X1C gen 1 for a gen 3 from lenovo is $2784..
but my post does say "or offer"..
i have done no price researching for a used X1C extreme gen 1..

finally, you're not breaking the rules and thank you for educating me..

It's here, and it finally brings back 16:10 (2560x1600 and 3840x2400, IBM T221 anyone?). Sadly the keyboard has less travel and there's still no RJ45 which is absurd on a 16" machine. And a classic keyboard would always be welcome...

If you use Lenovo EPP you can bring the price down a bit. Also there's the P1 which is the same machine with Quadro options.

now to build one..

built a nice system but the lenovo site reports a server error and won't let me add it to the cart..
will try it friday night..
but it does look like my gen 1's are worth very little..
