I've been so happy with my X62 that I purchased a backup or two of them in case we lose track of Jacky.

I'm using the machines less these days, so before deciding to sell vs hang onto these machines, I thought I'd check interest level.

Let me know if you'd be interested in purchasing an X62 / X63 with Windows 7 Ultimate, and at what $-level. The processors are i-5 and i-7.

I paid $1,200-1,600 a few years ago directly from the makers.
One has the the super bright LED conversion, and I've ordered the kit for the other.
And at least one of them has two usable SSD slots. (currently with a 512GB SSD in each)
I'm in the US, and could get them to you without much fuss.

I can provide more specs and conditions, so for now pleasse if you will just let me know if anyone is interested (and it'd be helpful to have a ball-park $$-figure, like 'interested at the $500 level,' or 'at the $1000 level,' etc.

I'll just say I am publicly interested (specs depending) and comment here to get updates. This could be an interesting post.

Made an account just to declare my interest. Price would vary depending on specs obviously but definitely in the $700-$1000 range. Owned an x62 from jackie's third batch and have regretted selling it ever since.

Is there a X62/X63 with some kind of WWAN capability achievable ? If yes, lets bump that interest a little further.

I've been on the hunt for a x62/x63 for years now but everytime one pops up I always end up missing it. Needless to say I'm super interested and would immediately pay what was asking price was.

Sincere apologies for disappearing. I'm posting my email first thing now to avoid missing any communication. (if that's allowed) texnyc @ gmail .com (Bill please let me know if not. I obviously value this community)

Here are the computers for sale. The first is a brand new one that I have not used, direct from 51NB. The second has a cracked screen, but given that the ribbon cable adapter is much harder to get than the actual panel (I've installed 4 in my life, and am grateful for my brief relationship with the fabricator in CN) plus it's taken me 4 years to try to obtain an LED kit, replacing just the panel may be easy by comparison.



I know it's been a year, so I should revisit whether there is any interest in these. In terms of managing expectations (assuming there is still interest, which may be a leap), I'll update this post in one week (Aug 7th) with what the "clearing" bid was, so people have a week to think about it. I'm obviously a big fan of these machines, but may be the last one.

Pics of x62 (#1)

The pics don't really do the special edition cover justice. If you've seen these, it's pretty much matte black from a distance (or in a business conference room), but at the right angle in the light, it's full of subtle stars (like on "2010").

#2 (Cracked panel)

Just a reminder that I was trying to give this a week (through Aug 7th) to generate any interest (before ebay etc). I've heard from people about the X62 with the cracked screen (#2). Let me know any interest in the new x62 (#1). I have one more working x62 that I was thinking of just putting in storage but could consider selling if there's enough interest.

Name a price. I'm glad that these are still around. There's something about this form factor that I just love. I'd hope to manufacture such a motherboard myself. I think that there would definitely be a market out there.

Thanks folks. As an update, the cracked screen one was sold to a forum member last Tuesday ($300).

Holy Cow, I just found all these 1050x1400 screens. I was apparently preparing for supply chain difficulties.

Update: the new one sold for $900 to a forum member.

Let me know if there's more interest. In addition to the X61s with 1050x1400 (#3 above), I've got one more X62 that I'm considering selling while I'm clearing all this stuff out. It would just take some time for me to wipe the drives etc.

It's got a couple of lines in the screen (very usable), but importantly it has the LED kit. And my other post also has some 1050x1400 screens that could be had as backup. Also has a 2TB crucial mx500 in addition to the 512GBNVMe.

Gotten some interest.

Update: Thanks for all the interest. For the last X62, I went ahead and installed a new keyboard and palm rest and decided to list it at ebay. Full pics and details are there.

Update: The X62's are sold.

I have one more SXGA 1050x1400 panel that is currently in my X61s. And I'm selling some stock X61s's for cheap on ebay. If anyone really needs the SXGA screen, I'd be willing to sell the whole screen & lid. (It's successfully installed in the lid of the X61s, so it would just be a bolt-in swap for any existing X62/X61s). Let me know ... otherwise I think I'm done cleaning out.
