WTB: Thinkpad Helix II (mechanical parts): 00JT561 USB Bracket

#1 Post by friedrich-eugen » Sun Jul 02, 2023 11:55 am

Hello,

I just try to have my last Helix II rebuilt and I find myself in small troubles, as I need some "00JT561 Lenovo-Duke-1 USB Bracket" to secure the use of a USB-Port.

It obviously got lost, I found one from a dealer in the US (there in store!), but the formal reply was "We do not send to Germany"... It is a small piece of metal, that would find ample place in a letter-envelope...

Help would be very welcome, payment could swiftly /easily done via Paypal...

Link to EMPR in Oz: https://store.emprgroup.com.au/p-412198-00jt561.aspx
Click on: Watch Part 00JT561 Installation Video Guide
Select your model 20CG or 20CH
In the "Click the part category..." select USB Connector Removal to see details.
Big picture of 00JT561

Looking at that part, it seems reasonably easy to duplicate it from a strip of aluminium or a Meccano strip or perforated steel strip, available in any DIY store.
You'll need some pliers and/or a small bench vice, a hacksaw, a drill, a tape measure and some patience.
The result doesn't need to be exact or pretty, as long as it keeps the items in place.
If you are a bit of a DIYer, you can do that in less than 30 minutes.
And will be a lot cheaper than buying it.
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)

Hello RealBlackStuff,

I managed to find and by some (2) defunct ones... Displays crashed, display incomplete, batteries dead, but parts enough... Actually I am refurbishing 4 Helix 2nd, 1 M-5Y71 4GB, 3 M-5Y71 8GB, all 512GB SSD. So i even got those small parts that got lost ....
