UPDATE - This has now been sold!
I've got a T601 project laptop for sale. It's a 4:3 T60 15" chassis with a 14" T61 Intel motherboard (FRU: 42W7648), the only 'fault' it has is a dodgy LCD inverter. The backstory behind this laptop: I started this (and a couple of other TP projects) just before COVID and other tragedies hit, and then it got put in a drawer and forgotten about.
I'm slowly clearing out my house and getting stuff sorted, which led me to rediscover this laptop. I installed Windows 10 via a Windows 7 recovery image (activated through Middleton's BIOS) but shortly after I finished setting everything up the backlight seems to have died - I'm not sure what inverter is even in there and I'm not confident in taking the LCD assembly apart to have a look as it appears to have a rare high resolution display.
Specifications:
-Intel C2D T9500
-2GB DDR2
-120GB SSD
-Qualcomm Atheros AR938x wifi card
-Standard 6-cell battery (seems to be okay, capacity unknown)
-1600x1200 LCD (faulty inverter)
-Middleton's BIOS installed
I'm selling the laptop for £100 including postage to mainland United Kingdom. If you're outside the UK then we can discuss postage options.
Today at work I was able to make use of the photo booth, so here are some decent photos: https://imgur.com/a/3MjZgub The photos of the display settings and system info were taken on an external display!
If you have any questions or offers, drop me a DM!

FYI: if you want to check/replace the inverter, check my website
https://theboardroom.info/trafo.html
Ignore the bit about LED-wires and those trafo-pictures.

Thanks for the link RBS! I don't really want to spend more money or time on any ThinkPads, I'm selling this one (and I might have another one hiding somewhere lol) to make space for and fund other things.

Don't state that the fault is with the inverter if you just think that's the case. It may be the backlight, which many members are incapable of replacing (without replacing the entire LCD unit) in contrast to the inverter.

WRONG!
If you shine a torch into the screen on power-on and can make out faint detail, then it is the backlight-FUSE which has failed.
That's a cheap 3A/32V/Fast fuse which sits on the right of the motherboard LCD-connector, under the black plastic.
Easiest repair is soldering a new one on top of the old one.
(e.g. 0467003.NR from Mouser)
Disadvantage: you have to first take the motherboard out of the frame.

I understand unixed is referring to the literal backlight, the CCFL tube inside the LCD, possibly being at fault. No fuses involved.

Thanks for your input everyone. I'm open to offers however I will go through the other parts I have and plan on getting rid of to see if I can test this laptop a bit more!
