Hello everyone! I’m looking for a working battery for my ThinkPad 380XD. Battery for this laptop look like a short rectangle, it is relatively thick, and the contact point is in the upper right corner of the battery label side. I hope this battery can hold for a while use, so I don’t have to plug power in it all the time like a desktop.

You're going to be better off rebuilding your existing battery with new cells, whether that be by yourself, or by sending it to a place that does rebuilds. Any original battery for these will be far too old at this point to be reliable. For instance, I got my 385XD (exact same laptop) with a working aftermarket battery that dated to around 2003. It held around 2.5 hours when I first got it, but rapidly deteriorated with each cycle to the point that it only holds around 15 minutes of charge now. This will be the case for the vast majority of working batteries you find now, the cells are just too old to be reliable. If you get a good, working battery for free (as in, with a laptop), then great, use it! But if you're paying just for a battery alone, that money is better spent getting a dead one rebuilt with new, reliable cells.

I think what you said makes a lot of sense, good old cells really hard to find. Do you know any rebuild services around eBay or forum? I will be grateful if you could provide some information :D

I found a website online that offers a battery rebuilding service and am contacting them. I am hoping they can rebuild this battery. Thanks for the advice on rebuilding the battery. :thumbs-UP:

The only place I know of is CHANS Battery Rebuild in Canada. There are probably some places in the US that do it, but CHANS is the one I've heard good things about. I'm going to be having them rebuild a newer ThinkPad battery for me in a couple months, so we'll see how they do.

I *might* have one but I can't check until 25th Feb. If you personal message to remind me then, I'll check if I have one that works. I am in UK.
