I'm looking for a 15" 4:3 UXGA IPS Flexview for a T60. I am in the US

Long story short I've spent a small fortune trying to get a decent thinkpad up and running to no avail ...

First I tried speccing out a T500 and ended up breaking the good screen I bought for it (too impatient to buy tin snips for a retrofit and thought I could get by with a hacksaw... ) and messing up the motherboard with a solder mod ..

Then wanted to build a T60/T61 frankenpad but didn't want to mess this one up so I decided to pay extra (a LOT extra) to get one pre-built for me. There's a guy on eBay selling T60 frankenpads. Knowing I didn't want a yellowed screen, he defrauded me and sold it to me anyway with a horribly bad yellowed, almost brown screen.. and then lied and said he couldn't see any yellow :flame: He took the sale off ebay and dealt privately so I couldn't give him negative feedback .. I should have known better.

All in, I'm about $1200 into old thinkpads and I still don't have one I can use. :banghead:

I ended up keeping the T60 frankenpad. All I'm missing now is a usable screen

I don't trust the China sellers on eBay who are selling hv150ux2-100's and I am concerned about the potential EDID issue people have mentioned here on the forum. I cannot lose more money on this ..

Anyone have one they are willing to part with?

I signed up here quite a while back for the sole purpose of being able to find realblackstuff's posts about display mods, since the forum doesn't allow guests to search forum members posts.. so, if you're wondering about this being my first post on the forum, I've been here for a good while just lurking and reading, just not posting.

Hello Cowsay!

Sorry to hear about your situation, I can relate. It's difficult to trust ebay sellers with something as particular as this- and especially now it does seem to be a market that some are willing to tap without having the passion behind it.

I might be able to help out as I do have a few HV150UX2-100s that a member sold me awhile back, NOS (New-Old Stock) in original packaging and ready to go. They will however- need some mods done to work with a T60/61. You'll need a display cable that somehow reverses the pinout, and a display inverter with the traces soldered to it, making the backlight connector. You can wait and see if someone on here has an entire lid assembly that they could possibly sell, but if you want you can reach out to me in the DMs and we can figure something out. I'm working with a fellow enthusiast to hopefully complete some mods that can go with the screens I have, so it's more accessible to enthusiasts interested in swapping one in.

Either way, best of luck!
