WTB: ThinkPad X21 RJ11/RJ45 connector

#1 Post by bhtooefr » Sat Jul 30, 2005 4:52 pm

I'm looking for the Modem Cable Conn. ASM (RJ11/RJ45) for the X21. The FRU number is: 27L0585.

If you guys can do $15 or less shipped to Ohio, I'm interested (but I might not be able to buy it - my parents may go against buying from some random guy on a forum).

I can get one for $15.45 off of eBay shipped, just so you know.

OK, that sounds VERY interesting.

Is it a new part, or a working pull? The eBay part was a working pull, but if it's a new part, that's even better.

My school (who bought the lappy) is going to buy the part, so I'll send the link to this thread to them. I had already sent a link to the $15.45 part on eBay, but this'll work, too.

It's a working pull. I can offer a 6 month warranty.

Hmm... now I'm really interested, as the eBay part only had a DOA warranty. And, the jack on this laptop worked when I first got it, so it wouldn't have been DOA.

I've sent my school a link to this thread, so I think they'll get it.

Before I say yes, could you please link me to the 100% feedback that you've got? Just covering myself and my school, ya know...

If it all checks out, I'm going with you.

Wow, I can't imagine what kind of extraodinary steps you will take if you have to pay like $1000 or more for a used TP.

Actually, the same steps - it's not a no-ship that I'm afraid of, as my school'd only be out $10, it's theft of the CC #.

dmdsoftware, I'm only doing this because I don't personally know you, and I'd rather play it safe ;)

Could a mod please close this thread?

I got the part for $16.99 from Blue Star Computer Corporation, with a 30 day warranty (I figured it was worth the little extra over the $15.45 part w/o a warranty...)

It appeared to be a new part that I got...

It's installed, and I'm connected to the wired network using it right now.

Man, that was NOT an easy install, though... (however, you DON'T have to remove the PC Card or Speaker assemblies, and the HDD assembly is probably optional as well...)
