[Sorry. I'm holding this for a buyer while I'm traveling. If he hasn't mailed payment when I return I will make it available again.]
The hard drive in my wife's T40 became quite loud and was just replaced under warranty yesterday. They sent her an Hitachi Travelstar 40GB 5400RPM drive as a warranty replacement. The drive is an Hitachi #08K0846 and IBM FRU #13N6801, and is kinda like this one for sale at zipzoomfly: http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDe ... 100517-RFB only that one is refurbished. The long model number says HTS548040M9AT00 in case anyone needs to know that. The drive was sent to my wife by IBM in a box with a sticker that said "may contain serviceable used parts" on the outside of the box, so it might be used. I don't know. The manufacture date says MAR-05. Because of the sticker I wanted to make sure it worked well so I installed from the Restore Disks to factory condition and all seemed fine to me (so currently the drive has a fresh factory install for a T40). I'm selling because I have several of those Hitachi 7K60's sitting around here unused and I figure I may as well let my wife use one. That makes this warranty replacement drive available. No caddy, just the bare drive. I figure maybe $60 delivered to the Mainland USA. Of course if I'm way outta line please let me know via a PM as I've not had to buy a hard drive for a while.
