I have a T42 for sale, this T42 is heavily upgraded, not refurbished and if you are looking for a T42/T43 unit, it won't get much better than this:

2.1Ghz Pentium M 765 CPU(CPU was original box-sealed Intel CPU, also it runs very cool at ~40C for word processing web surfing etc..)
1.5GB RAM(512MB on board + 1GB original IBM RAM upgrade not Kingston or any other non-branded RAM, it's genuine IBM upgrade)
14.1 SXGA+ with 64MB 9600 ATI Radeon card
100GB 7200rpm HITACHI 7k100 hard drive
Bluetooth
802.11 b/g
warranty to 2007-7

For free I will also throw in a PCMCIA Creative Audigy 2 ZS card(CNET editor's choice & PCMAG editor's choice) -great sound, good stuff
For $30 1x spare NEW T42/T43 keyboard, I can replace it for ya if you wish.

Laptop in excellent physical condition.

I have sold an X41 and X40 on this forum

hi,

how much are you asking for the unit? and where are you located or where is the unit located?

what's the part # of the unit? and what is your preferred payment/shipping method?

how is the LCD display? No dead or faulty pixels? How long has it been used (if it's a used unit)?

How is the battery life and how many cells is the battery?

Does it come w/ a multi-format DVD writer?

What other items are included in the package?

a friend might be interested.

Thanks in advance for the information. :)

I am located in Sydney, unit is located in Sydney

part # 2373H15, go to IBM web for specs, this is an EDU model, friend bought for me, and warranty shouldn't be a prob since this will be a second hand unit-same as buy it off a student on eBay. I have had excellent service from IBM in the past, I looked it up, the warranty actually will expire on 2007-11-7

yes, unfortunately, there is one green pixel always on, located about 7cm from the left edge of the screen and 5mm from the bottom of the screen, except for the first time when I did a dead pixel check, it doesn't bother me at all.

The unit has been used for about 10 months

battery is 6-cell, holds about 2.5-3 hours charge

yes, it comes with DVD+/- burner, part #39T2507

other items: Audigy ZS 2 PCMCIA, new keyboard, new palmrest

right... let me justify what I ask for(all in USD):
base unit without reconfiguration for a used unit- ask for $1290
now upgrades:
Pentium M 765 2.1Ghz CPU(spend $400), sold 1.7Ghz CPU-upgrade cost $270
1GB IBM ram(spend $150), upgrade cost $150
+/-multiburner(spend $270), sold CDRW-upgrade cost $200, ask for $150
HITACHI 7k100 100GB, upgrade cost $250, ask for $200
Audigy PCMCIA-$100 value-essential! new palmrest + new keyboard = $70 value

I think these prices are some of the lowest you could ask for for those components, yes, they are still the lastest components! Since there is a dead pixel, I ask for USD2000 + $50 to USA

there is a pic

hi, thanks for the info. that's one good deal - my dream specs for a T42. unfortunately its above my budget at the moment, unless I'm able to generate the extra funds, I'll have to pass for now. Another difficulty for me would be location, I initially thought it would be in the US so I could arrange for my friend to pay and pick up/get it for me. Though I have a friend flying over to Australia this December - if he gets a plane ticket. If everthing falls into place - my friend gets a ticket, and I get some extra funds or the price falls into range I'll get in touch with you then. Hopefully we can strike a deal if the unit is still available by then. And when I'm ready to buy I might request for the serial # to confirm the warranty status if that's ok with you. Good luck selling the unit.
