FS / FT: Port Replicator II and IBM Wireless II Mini-PCI

#1 Post by Biker2679 » Tue Nov 29, 2005 8:08 pm

IBM ThinkPad Port Replicator II with IBM Power Adapter- This is a ThinkPad port replicator with USB, DVI, Ethernet, Audio, PS/2 Mouse and KB, LPT and serial port. It should work with most X,T,R & A Series Laptops. P/N 74P6734. Its in perfect condition.

I also have a Thinkpad AC Power adapter that works with the Port replicator, or as a stand alone unit. IBM P/N 02K6749. Should fit a pretty wide range of Thinkpads.

$65 shipped for both OBO.

IBM A/B/G Mini-PCI Wireless II Card- Open package to see revision version, but otherwise brand new with all IBM packaging. Uses the Atheros 5004 chipset, and might work on non-IBM machines as well.

$50 shipped OBO.

I am looking for a Bluetooth BMDC II and Bluetooth antenna for my T40, and a 1 GB mini-SD memory card, if anyone wants to trade.

PM me if you are interested. I have both heatware and beerology.com references.

Stuff still available

#4 Post by Biker2679 » Mon Dec 05, 2005 4:11 pm

Everything is still for sale, although I have moved the port replicator and power adapter to eBay. You can find the items here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... :B:EF:US:1

Mods: I didnt see anything in the rules about not posting links to eBay auctions, but if this is impermissible, I apologize in advance, and please feel free to remove this.

The wireless card is still available, and I am still looking for the mini-SD card. I picked up the Bluetooth stuff already. Thanks.

Also, I live in Holland (The, Netherlands E.U.) so howmuch would the shipping be?

Those cards cost 47 euro excl. postage in the netherlands. :)

I am not sure if my card supports to channel 13. This is the model of the card- http://www-131.ibm.com/webapp/wcs/store ... Id=8770176

If this will work for you, let me know and I'll figure out shipping to Holland.

But i don't have a P/N so cant be for sure (tough the site says (US))

But can't you try to connect to a ap configured @ chan 12 of 13?
then you know for sure ;)

I think its something more ppl want to know. (since those chan's are being used in the EU)

EU Information

#8 Post by Biker2679 » Tue Dec 06, 2005 5:53 pm

The part number for the card is: P/N 73P4301

From the information I have found, this card works with the 802.11d specification, allowing it to work in most EU countries on the extended channels. The materials that come with the card show that it is approved for use in CY, DE, DK, ES, FI, GB, EE, IT, IE, IS, LT, LU, LV, MT, NL, NO, PL, PT, SE, and SI.

From everything I read, it is my belief the hardware supports the extended channels. I think the real question is whether the software/drivers support access to these extended channels. Unfortunately, the card is not installed in my system, and I dont want to take everything apart just to test it. You might ask around and see if anyone has any experience with this.

Some more information can be found here:

http://www.atheros.com/pt/AR5004XBulletin.htm

http://www.netgate.com/product_info.php?products_id=219

As for shipping to the Netherlands, the USPS site shows that it would cost between $10-15 USD to ship, and that you would get it in about a week. It might cost slightly less if I shipped it in an envelope instead of a box, but thats your call.

P/M me if you are interested.
