For Sale: --->> Like New Top-of-the-Line X41

#1 Post by brainpicker » Wed Dec 21, 2005 8:38 am

[ EDIT: The 2528-6NU just became available again when the buyer's spouse had "cold feet" prior to delivery. I issued a refund to prevent a divorce. His loss could be your gain, so make an offer! ]

I have two X41's for sale. I am accepting offers on each and may sell them at any time without notice. I do not know what the true market value is for either of these, so that's why I'm taking offers instead of stating a firm price. I've noticed that stating a selling price doesn't usually correlate to selling it for anywhere near that price in the end anyway 8) !

These are THE Top-of-the-Line X41 models. Check the tabook to verify for yourself. The only difference is that one comes WITH an X4 Ultrabase & Combo Drive, and the other does not.

Model 2525-6HU
Pentium M 758 (1.5GHz) LV
512MB PC2-4200 DDR2 RAM (one slot free)
60GB 4200rpm HDD
12.1in. 1024x768 LCD

8 Cell Li-Ion battery
WinXP Pro

PLUS: X4 UltraBase + CD-RW/DVD

Condition: The 6NU is like new but without it's box. I turned it on once to check for defects (non found). The 6HU is like new and has the original boxes (my wife hasn't screamed about these boxes yet but she will soon!). It too was turned on just once to check for defects, and just like the other model none were found. One comment about this. Another seller has an X41 for sale advertised as an open bow but "never turned on", so another forum member asked me "why did you turn yours on?". Well, think about it... the box is already opened so why NOT do it? Wouldn't you rather KNOW the state of the screen and if it works BEFORE you buy it (instead of guessing about these things)? Some sellers do this as a service and charge extra for it! I figure if I'm going to unseal the box I want to know if it works. The key is missing that locks the X41 to the X4 but it is not necessary for operation and costs about $10 + shipping to replace if you really have to have one.

SOME DETAILS:
--> Shipping to most Mainland US destinations is approximately $25.
--> Escrow is required for your protection (for a $50 fee) through Bill Morrow, the owner of thinkpads.com and provider of this forum.
--> PayPal can also be accepted at an additional 3% to cover their fees.

SO... If you are interested in making an offer for any of these laptops please contact me at "kpikiller at gmail dot com". I will correspond further if I feel there's a chance we can work out a deal. While any offer is welcome, I am not going to give these away so please make your best offer known to me right away. It would be unfortunate for you to miss out on a nice laptop for a price you would have been willing to offer, but while you were stalling or negotiating someone else beat you to it!

Good Luck,

Yak

Just one little bump before possibly moving to eBay.

I am accepting reasonable offers and would rather sell to someone here for a bit less than bother with an auction anyway. Only the 2528-6NU is available, and it just became so again as the buyer's wife balked at spending the money at the last minute so I gave him a refund prior to delivery (I only want happy buyers). If you want to be a happy buyer of one of the finest X41's money can buy just make me a fair offer!

Thanks,
Yak
