FS: IBM THINKPAD R52 Model: 1860-2NU w/ 3 year warranty

IBM Laptop R52 $1100 or best offer

Model Number: 1860-2nu
http://www-131.ibm.com/webapp/wcs/store ... logId=-840
that's the original manufacture's website for the product listed. It contains specifications and information.
IBM's total pricing comes out to $2038.94 with all the options I've included.
If you buy it here, you save the wait time (customs and shipping delays from Hong Kong), and at least 200 dollars.

This is a new computer (brand new) with original packaging.
I just received it yesterday from IBM (01/12/2006), directly.
I'm selling it because I'm going to purchase a new computer.
I'm currently a student at UCLA, the r52 is too large for my taste; and I'll be looking into an ultra portable next.

This computer comes with a stick of 256mb ram that isn't included with the original manufacture specs.
I ordered/customized this memory directly from lenovo, so it is certified and authorized.
The total system memory is now 768mb.
It also comes with a 3 year warranty that is backed by IBM.

This really is a good computer and quite a steal.

Thats a lot of money for an R series that lacks discrete graphics and has only an XGA screen.

From a buyers standpoint, until you just recently dropped it to $1100, it seems that since you are a student and are comparing the prices to IBM/Lenovo's "list" prices, one might get the feeling that you used a student discount to get it cheap and then are trying to sell it for more money.

Why not return it, since it is in the 30 day period, and get what you really want?

EDIT: Also, since you only have 4 posts, and they are all in this thread, one might be leary of shelling out almost $2K to someone who just waltzed in the door, as a salesman.

I can't return it, sadly, because the item had come with a printer and I've already opened it.

I don't think this computer is listed with an education discount (well, not one that i'm aware of). I purchased it from IBM's website, as it states.

Well, anyways, the price is still as is, 1100.

Is it straight up for sale or are you up for trades?
